Love this guy. 5-10 202 4.4 speed was the best of the 2 OSU RB.
Better than Judkins in my opinion. Runs with good pad level and vision and can take it to the house from anywhere.
Not sure about his arm lenght.

He’s also a great receiver out of the backfield. Perfect for our new third down back and takes pressure off Stephenson.

Like the player, don't like the pick. There are too many excellent RBs to be had over the next couple of rounds.
Yes. Take 3rd down backs in the 3rd round or later.
Yes he’s good in pass pro, but he needs big holes to run through, gets dinged up, and will need to be in a committee.
There were many other players to get excited about in this spot.
Deepest RB draft in years. If you skip the top guy then wait till the bottom of the tier. good RBs will go in the third this year.

There are very few guys with his pass pro who can score from anywhere on the field. The guy can protect. I get why Josh loves him. I mean if he were taken in round 3 I’d be ecstatic.
He will need to be in a committee though. The top of the second just seems early for a guy who needs a committee in the deepest RB draft we have had in years.
It would have been better to draft Jeanty, burn him up for 5 years, and take some Oline guys with upside who can be coached up.

James White went in the 4th, right? I guess it's not stupid high...hopefully he pans out.
Brady aside. maybe the greatest offensive performance in SB history. Record potnts (20), record receptions (14). And tied for most TD's with Rice, Craig ,Watters for most Tds in Superbow (3). lAnd Brady doesn't come close to his ownperformance without sweet feet. A fourth and a late late sixth. F### the first round.

I like this as well, another really good pick. He's fast, strong and can catch as well. Plus he's good in pass protection. These are all sure Josh McDaniels picks. Great stuff.

There's merit in taking a guy later but there's also merit in taking the guy you want for the specific role you want him to play.
McD has never had a RB with the speed that brings the kind of threat this guy brings.
LBs and nickels won't be bailing to cover the middle too soon when he's on the field. Plus, he gives pass rushers pause or they will get burned.
There is beauty in a simple wheel route when the ball goes over the head of an oncoming pass rusher into the waiting hands of a fast RB.

This guy's your starting rb1 coming out of camp.
The "Third down back" and "limited touches" people really don't know what they're talking about.

This is a bigger, stronger Dion Lewis, who, despite people's mind-blindness, was a feature back over his tine here.

If Stevenson is even still here, he's going to b fighting with Gibson (the actual 3rd down back) for carries, and don't be surprisedbid we sign a bruiser udfa rb for camp.

You elicit a whole lot of thought from me in this post.

Like you, I think he could be RB1 here like he was at OSU from '21-'23. I also think he could be used initially as a 3rd down back. He'll earn whichever role Josh puts him in. Initially, I think
Josh will be cautious even though it's been 3 years since Henderson has fumbled the ball which is something to consider vs RStevenson's fumbling issues.

6 months ago I thought Stevenson had fumbled his way out of Foxboro but the new regime is giving him a fresh start. If the fumbling continues during camp Vrabel and Josh should
cut him up into (trade) bait.

A bruiser RB as a draft pick or an UDFA? Yes, please. Any one specific you have in mind? Keep it in mind as the draft proceeds and kindly let us know. I'm thinking Kaleb Johnson or
Kalel Mullings or Raheim Sanders.

I just heard Henderson say that the only contact that he had with the Patriots before the draft was a remote video interview. He said that the interview went well, but he was not expecting to be drafted by the Patriots.
He is thrilled now to be a Patriot. He seems like a good guy, no arrogance, no false humility, just a real well spoken person.

There was debate about the 38th pick. The 2 players being debated were Henderson and OL Jonah Savaiinaea (AZ). Henderson won out and the other guy
was drafted by Miami so it didn't really matter that Miami traded up to get him before the Pats picked. He projects to be a G in the NFL.
The reason this matters is how did the Dolphins know? The Pats have to find the leak.

What if I told you it was an intentional leak? :coffee:

Savaiinaea is a big, tough kid...but not really worth trading up for in that spot.
