TreVeyon Henderson pick 38 in the NFL Draft Welcome to the Patriots

I just heard Henderson say that the only contact that he had with the Patriots before the draft was a remote video interview. He said that the interview went well, but he was not expecting to be drafted by the Patriots.
He is thrilled now to be a Patriot. He seems like a good guy, no arrogance, no false humility, just a real well spoken person.
Arm length?

This guy's your starting rb1 coming out of camp.
The "Third down back" and "limited touches" people really don't know what they're talking about.

This is a bigger, stronger Dion Lewis, who, despite people's mind-blindness, was a feature back over his tine here.

If Stevenson is even still here, he's going to b fighting with Gibson (the actual 3rd down back) for carries, and don't be surprisedbid we sign a bruiser udfa rb for camp.
A negative report I heard concerning Henderson since the draft was “ He couldn’t last a full season in the Big 10, it will only be worse in the pros”. (Paraphrased)
Ohio St brought in Judkins(sp) for a reason.

A good comparison for Henderson is Curtis Martin. He got hurt his senior year at Pittsburgh, and is similar in size to Henderson. There were doubts about whether Martin was worth the third round pick the Patriots used to acquire him.

Martin was a workhorse throughout his NFL career and missed very, very few games. And he was very productive, leading the league in attempts and rushing yards in his age 31 year.

I'm not saying that Henderson will be the next Curtis Martin. But sharing the load with Judkins at OSU means there's not a lot of mileage on Henderson, and that could translate to a longer and more productive career in the NFL.

I read about Henderson's injury history but I didn't take it in a negative light. Henderson had a great freshman year ('21) and didn't miss a game.
He broke his foot his soph year and missed 5 games.
He missed 3 games his Jr year to a lower body injury, whatever that means.
To me, the broken foot is bad luck and the lower body injury is par for a RB's life. I don't think those injuries mean he isn't durable relative to other RBs.

Ohio State was lucky Judkins wanted to enter the '24 transfer portal and want to go to OSU. Judkins had just had 2 greatly productive years at Ole Miss (545 carries/2700+ yds, 0 fumbles).
No school would turn down that kind of production. Henderson and Judkins were only together 1 year. Henderson had more yards/touch than Judkins. Judkins had 55 more touches but
fewer yds gained than Henderson.

I read that it isn't a Henderson thing, it's most of the 2nd rounders waiting for the previous shoes to drop. I'm glad it isn't just him. There's really no issue to me since the whole 2nd round is kind of hung up on the next guy up the ladder.
