He’s probably only got a year and a half left anyway. Cut him, make the statement, the benefits to the locker room will out weigh the loss of production.

Peppers didn’t happen on Vrables watch, he was acquitted of all charges, and it’s not on video on a yatch missing practice while Vrable is trying to pull a young team together.
 
Diggs isn’t Michael Irving in his prime smoking crack winning superbowls on a team of vets who can ignore that and still win.

He’s got at BEST a year and a half of good play left. He’s will not be around when this team gets good, and this is worth making an example out of.
 
Reports are saying the team are considering cutting him.

Boston sports talk radio host and former New England Patriots quarterback Scott Zolak said Friday that it is possible the Pats could release wide receiver Stefon Diggs before he ever plays a down for the team.
Speaking on 98.5 The Sports Hub (h/t Justin Leger of NBC Sports Boston), Zolak said the following about the potential of the Patriots cutting Diggs:
"I came to this show yesterday with the opinion—not opinion, but the knowledge that it is on the table. That it is being thought of. And it's not just the boat. It's not just the boat. There are some other things that I've heard that put some things in question. Are you all-in here?"

Zolak doesn't have inside info on what Vrabel or Wolf are considering. He's not a credible source for that kind of news.

It's a bad look for Diggs and it won't endear him to Pats nation but he didn't carry a gun onto an airplane or get caught for possession or get arrested for domestic assault.
This wasn't an arrestible situation. He knows it's a bad look. He knows he let the team down.

Vrabel and Wolf will have an obligatory firm talk with him (with Kraft in attendance most likely) and his response will determine his future with this young team. It will all be kept
in-house. My guess is he'll get a don't-let-it-happen-again tongue "lashing" unless he says something that shows conduct detrimental behavior. He's not that stupid (unless he
wants to be cut.) He'll apologize and life goes on.
 
He will endear himself to Patriots nation when he puts up good numbers and catches TD passes. Fans are fickle.
Most had embraced AB who was probably the biggest asshat that was ever brought into the Patriots.

The other 2 were minor players. AB was considered elite at his position. So much so that TFB was willing to sink in the mud twice for that scum.
Diggs, at this point, is is considered just a notch below AB in natural ability. So, if he performs, the fans will embrace him.

He’s not even gonna play till Oct. he’s 31. Next year he’s 32.
That’s a year and a half of good ball left for him by my math. At best.

Everything I’ve read says they are targeting week five for him to be back. That’s Oct.
Can he beat that? Maybe. Chevss probably knows better than anyone.
It doesn’t change that fact that he’s 31, and even if he looks great, next offseason WR1 is going to be a need.
 
I mean, we do have to get real here. There are NFL players who have done things on a gargantuan level worse than anything Diggs is being accused of in this case, who have been allowed to play and who teams kept on their rosters. Players who have beaten up women, raped women, beaten up kids, being wasted and drove and injured/killed people etc etc

Diggs took some drugs and partied with some women? Sounds like a normal night out for a pro athlete to me.....

my concern is with his shittiness as a teammate, not drugs. i don't care too much about offseason substances, and during season care only about what would affect ability to play/perform.
 
Something may happen, but it we won't hear about it unless he runs his mouth. I doesn't look like they are cutting him for this. That ship has sailed.

Not saying he won't do something else and then get cut...
