Pathetic. absolutely pathetic.

No fine. The NFLPA nor Watson will appeal. Obviously.

No word from the NFL yet.

Cleveland must be thrilled. That's a game changer for their season.

The NFL really makes no sense but what else is new.

I’m sure their female fans are really thrilled.

Calvin Ridley was suspended a full season for placing a bet.

He's eternally grateful his Mom didn't name him Tom Brady.

Cheers

Not surprised... I expected 6 or at the most 8
don't agree with it. NFL should have sent a message, but what should we have come to expect from them.

Roger continues to show the world that the NFL thinks females don't count for anything unless of course we want to buy merchandise and tickets, than we matter for a very short period of time

So much THIS^^^^^^

But really, the owners are to blame including our own. They choose to keep this clown in charge. They are ruled by their wallets and not their ethics. This is not new of course, but they are not even trying to pretend anymore.

And don't get me started on 4 games for disallowing science and 6 games for sexually abusing so many women.

The ball is now actually in Goodell's court. The NFL can appeal this decision from the neutral judge, and if they do, Roger is the arbiter, and he alone will decide.

Many pundits believed that if the recommended suspension was six games or less, then the NFL would appeal and impose their preferred penalty which is a year.

Crickets from the NFL so far.

It won't deter female fans from watching. When I was at the TC this week, there were a ton of women and young girls. They had a woman, not sure who she was some type of athlete, maybe gymnast talking to the fans before the players came out.

The whole thing is nauseating but should not be surprising. I have come to terms with the fact that the NFL is not an entity that is ever going to do or not do anything other than what is in its own best self-interest. I could choose to stop following it as a female fan but I won't. I love it too much. It really is a struggle at times. As I was sitting at the TC with my brother and we were talking about the upcoming season and watching Mac warm up, I had such a warm feeling inside. This time of year is so great because expectations are so high for everyone. It is such a great sport but alas then we have the off-field stuff and Roger and it really casts a dark shadow. But you know I tell my kids all time, everything in life has the good with the bad and the bad with good. We can never really get around it. We just do the best we can.

I wish he was suspended for the year but selfishly , I was hoping he'd have to play the first regular season game against
the Panthers and Baker Mayfield . What a circus that would be :rgci:

Cleveland had a decent quarterback that every year he was bringing the team closer and closer to the promised land. And what do they do? They get rid of him for this POS

CBS knows the NFL does not have an actual "independent disciplinary officer"

CBS has 13 of CLE's 17 regular season broadcasted games this year

of CLE's 13 broadcasted games, CBS has 5 of the 1st 6 CLE games this season

CBS has CLE's WK 7 game broadcast game

CBS gets 8 of it's 13 CLE broadcast committed games to showcase Watson and his package

CBS was looking down the barrel of 13 CLE broadcast games w/o Watson

CBS
told Roger 6 games

If he does I will be pleasantly surprised. 1 season for his crimes is still diddly.

The NFL has 3 days to appeal. The NFL will likely sit back and gauge the backlash if any and make a decision. At the end of the day, the NFL is all about money and if they feel this decision will affect business, if female fans raise their voices, if some advertisers put the heat on the league, they will move.

Goodell also has to know that he is under the microscope especially after the Ray Rice scandal. if he does nothing, he'll be savaged and rightly so. I think they will appeal and Goodell will do a years suspension. I mean how can he not??

The NFL actually played this well with the independent arbitrator. Roger can just say he is going with the decision. Unless as you say there is a huge backlash from advertisers.

His sole job in this sport is to make money for the billionaires. I don't see him getting suspension of any kind, he works for the cash cow.
