That's all true and I agree. The Chiefs lucked out again to win a one score game thanks to referee help. Go back and look again at that last penalty called.
Why did the refs huddle? There was nothing confusing to me...false start should have been the call since the Raiders' WRs were not set.
The ref who threw the flag came in and appeared to call false start.
That would have nullified the play and given the ball back to the Raiders even though the Chiefs recovered the fumble. That was the right call.
Then we saw a moment of confusion.
Next thing we saw is the refs huddling in private (after shooing away all the players) for a minute and and broke their huddle to announce "illegal shift".
Why? Because it gave the Chiefs the right to decline the penalty which allowed the play to stand and gave the Chiefs the win.
This was too obvious, NFL!!

But that does not let the Raiders coaching staff off the hook.
They couldn't get the play in. The QB kept looking over to the sideline and everyone looked confused. In that situation you have to call a play so the QB has enough time to look over the defense and change the play if needed. For trying to get closer to increase their chances at a FG?
I don't think they were wrong to run a quick pass play.
This wasn't an Eberflus moment, imo.
At the time I thought LV would win the game.
NFL explanation but who knowsThe Chiefs lucked out again to win a one score game thanks to referee help. Go back and look again at that last penalty called.

They were up 2 TDs in that game.Jets lost which always makes me feel better.
