WEEK 2 Miami Game Thread

That's total BS for them to reverse that. It's not clear and obvious. They didn't reverse the Stephenson carry.

geisicki with a heads up lateral in the heart of battle. Very heady. Love the fight in this team. Play a clean game turnover wise and e are 2-0, despite crappy oline all night.

The game was too late for me, so I saw the scoreline when I woke and thought, oh shit. Looking at the comments though it seems we weren't woeful. Just saw the highlights. That Douglas turnover was bad. Like last year, our rookie WRs have made bad errors and Troy Brown will be under pressure to fix these.

Slow starts again was a killer. Great fight though to claw back. That last call by the officials was a disgrace. There is no way in hell they had evidence to overturn that call.

And Hill is a little prick.

I tried to look at it without my homer glasses. He made the line of gain. No matter how many time I look at it, he made the line of gain. It's not where your knee touches the ground, it's where the ball is when the knee touches the ground. Every angle that they showed, he made the line of gain.

No, it was clear and obvious that it needed to be overturned, clearly and obviously...

Oline is this team’s biggest problem. Terrible all night.

We tried to tell BB before the draft. 🤷

And great, an easy TD for Mostert. That's probably it.

Send an extra S out wide to stop outside zone often enough and they run Mostert inside zone for 43 yds and a TD.
Did you notice McDaniel smiling broadly after that play?
He's a pretty smart coach. He's taken Shanahan's scheme up a notch.

Well, Tua/Hill put up 20 on the Patriots for the first time. All it took was injuries to the Patriots 2 fastest CBs custom made for Hill and Waddle, and they got a whole 24!

Jon Jones is our Hill killer and Marcus is our Waddle killer. Both injured.
Our OL for this game hadn't practiced together until this week. Our LT was plucked from scraps 3 weeks ago to be 4 deep depth.
1st game for Onwenu and Strange - like training camp for them.
Calvin Anderson, RT, could have used some extra help on the Clay Matthews looking guy. Who is he again?

We did pretty damn well considering our CBs and OL were playing with 1 arm tied behind their backs. I'd say next time would be different but it's in Miami.
There's no blaming Mac for this one. He showed poise, heart and determination. I like this young man more and more.

I did like the penetrating aggressive style Fangio used for his DL. That was effective against even our starting OLinemen when they were playing.
Miami's DLinemen were in our backfield all night.

Well, another loss. Not even a moral victory! Okay, on to New York. If you can't beat the JETE even on the road...🙄

I am quite curious to see how that D-line looks vs. Denver and Buffalo in the next two games. Something tells me they won't be the world-beaters they appeared to be last night.

Happy take: We got he starting guards back for the Miami game!
Reality take: The starting guards played worse that then the rookies did last week.

I only watched the 1st half as I could not start awake. That was enough to see that Strange, (whom I really like) was terrible. Trial by fire against that Miami D line. It had to happen nd I believe another full week of practice will do them good. I can see better o-line play being a difference maker last night.

Fingers crossed going forward.

What was the W/L record after 2 weeks in 2001?

it wasn't even close, it was obvious from every angle
