WEEK 2 Miami Game Thread

Oline is maddening because it’s been a glaring weakness for a couple seasons now. Considering the list of WRs passed up in both the draft and FA to amass this collection of JAGs, you’d have to say that position group is equally frustrating.

The Def was impressive given the circumstances. Christian G looks like the best first rounder the Pats have had since Hightower.
I was very disappointed with Strange. Really was hoping for improvements with him back. Maybe it’s rust. Very disappointed with the run game. Some of it may be due to oline issues.
Im pretty disappointed in general with this game. I can give some passes on losing to the eagles, but at home the Patriots needed to beat Miami. They needed this game. It’s not gonna get easier. The AFC is loaded.

I'm probably a bit of a pessimist these days, but why do I get the feeling that we're not going to see Belichick get those 19 wins to pass Shula? 🤦‍♂️

I didn't think the D was that great. Tua never looked rushed from the pocket and his guys were open in the flat all game. I suppose the D deserves some credit for making them having to do 10 or more plays to score but the objective is to actually stop them and force a punt. Of course it doesn't help when the offense only puts up 3 in the first half. The slow starts have been a problem now going back to Mac's rookie season. Even Judon mentioned it after the game.

Tua's Dolphins 5-0 vs Belichick while scoring an avg of only 19 ppg in those games. :blue:

On second thought, that ball needed to be higher to let Parker make a play on it. Nevermind, all on Mac.

You are teh awesomeness. Teh awesome at pissing me off. Redundant negative bullshit is, well, redundant garbage.

I enjoy getting pissed off in the morning on occasion. Doesn't really smell like victory as napalm does, but it does get the juices cooking. So, you're at least good for something.

You're welcome, in advance for the Mike Patton/Mr. Bungle thing @Alk

"Don't you f@#%ing look at me"

"Boo"

"Redundant, Redundant"

😅

the d gameplan appeared to be allow/invite the run so more players were available to cover. other than the one mostert run, they had few big plays.

Yeah other then that run the D did what it want to do. Better Oline protection and no turn overs and we win that game

Bottom line is that excuses used to be for other teams, not us. Hopefully this is part of the growing process but right now all I see is a team with heart, but lacks the weapons to actually start winning some of these games. BILL is coaching like he still has Brady, and sadly that won't get us very far.

I agree with that, just have to hope they improve as the season goes on.

Tua and his offense are 2 years ahead of Mac and the Patriots offense. I thought Mac performed very well with the pressure he was under. I thought the offense did better than I expected, minus the penalties, turnovers and mistakes, considering the new OL which hadn't played together, to be able run hurry-up so much. That impressed me. Give them all a few more games and I think even the OL will begin to perform much better. I do worry quite a bit about Calvin Anderson at RT. He simply couldn't handle that hot long-haired blonde.

Maybe because he's only marginally a RT/Swing, and significantly better on the left side? Which is cool for me, because Trent is better on the right. This is the week to make the switch.

Bottom line, he's not quick enough to deal with the quick/speed guys.

Not sure that's true. His push step off his right foot is much faster triggered and he's quicker to his landmarks on the left.
