Week 2 starts tonight with the Vikings vs Eagles on Amazon Prime.
That's all I have to say about that.

Prime is coming through at 1080p/HDR10/Dolby Audio

We have a 4k TV. Anyone know if Amazon is broadcasting 4k and if yes, how do I make it happen? Bandwidth is NOT an issue as we have 1.1GB data.

I also have a 4K tv. The picture is coming in clearly, better than last year, and the sound is good.

Picture quality is decent. Middle of the road for what we typically see on YouTube TV. The Dolby surround is there. I can hear the rear speakers, but not as much as I typically do watching football. Not as much ambient fan noise, for instance. I would say the Amazon prime experience is better this year, and still quite a bit less than what we get on network broadcast through YouTube TV.

The image above is not a good representation of the picture quality. I was moving a bit. I attached it only to show the picture details at the top.

The display itself is a 3 year old 65 inch Vizio (P65Q9-H1)

Eagles get to play against 2 "makeshift" OL's in the first 2 games of the season.

What if the Vikings are bad enough that they end up sliding Marvin Harrison next to Justin Jefferson for 2024?

Good God. Kirk might throw for 6000 yards before losing in the first round of the playoffs.

Michael Buffer? Is that the first time he's done that for an NFL game?

Eagles beat the Vikes 34-28. Just before halftime, Jefferson caught a pass and tried to reach for a TD. Instead he loses control of the ball and it goes over and out of the EZ for a touch back. Eagles the go down for a FG. Ten point turnaround.
Have the Eagles been lucky in the first 2 games, or not?

The Eagles fans are so harsh  A couple of 3 and outs on some Eagles drive near the start of the game and the boos were deafening. Not an easy place to play.

You can't help but get the impression that Buffalo is a few steps from implosion. The Bills own media person was caught on a hot mike dissing Diggs, which reporters picked up, and she has had to make a grovelling apology. Their HC is just not very good, let's be honest, and the way Allen plays and is being coached is not going to end well.

They have a reason to be harsh. The Eagles barely beat the Pats with the points we spotted them in the 1st quarter then they barely beat the Vikings who spotted them 4 turnovers.
I'm beginning the think the Eagles aren't nearly as good as I thought they were which gives me more concern about my Patriots. Lots to clean up before Sunday.

Yes, I've seen the same signs of implosion you've seen. They got close for a couple of years but the prize was always just out of their reach.
As soon as Daboll left their offense backtracked. Josh Allen has reverted to his frenetic undisciplined play - runs without ducking and off target throws. Too often he plays like a
deer in the headlights, allowing his instincts to overwhelm his thinking processes.
Diggs has been unhappy since before OTAs and no one knows why.
McDermott may be Andy Reid's 3rd best coaching disciple but his 4-5 playoff record has room for plenty of improvement. He looks the part but his in-game management has especially cost the Bills. I've never thought getting caught up in the emotions of a game was good place for a head coach (or QB) to be. McDermott looks & talks the part in some ways but in other ways he looks like another reason the Bills have not been able to close the deal.
There is time this year for the Bills to pull it all together. This could also be a telling year for the Bills organization.

Diggs has been unhappy since before their playoff exit last year. While in fairness that hot mic thing is a nothingburger in context, the fact that the team (or Diggs's people?) felt the need to compel a mealy-mouthed apology for it says more than the incident itself.

As to the Eagles, they were in total control of that game from the middle of the 2nd quarter through the final gun, and that includes a chunk of time when they were trailing. That long drive in the 2nd quarter that was entirely on the ground basically told the Vikings that they can gameplan the explosiveness away, we'll just march the long way, right through you.

They are a very multiple offense. And as if often the case with offenses like that, it takes some feeling out of what the defense is doing before you can adjust and take advantage of it. That's actually what impressed me most about the Patriots defense, that they kept adjusting to the Eagles changes and kept eating them up. 12 points that weren't handed to them on short fields, to one of the highest scoring offense in the league.

I wonder if the Jete try to trade for Cousins. He is in his final year of his contract. So they could trade for him theoretically and still have Rodgers return next year assuming his achilles is healed.

Both teams were a hot mess in the first half. That was some of the worst football I have ever seen. I think September is going to be a long month. Credit to the Eagles for being 2-0 and stacking wins when they have had stretches of playing like hot poop in both games.

Keep in mind it was a Thursday game. Really hard to get a read on teams after a super-short week like that.

After escaping death and destruction from yesterday's strong, we out this beautiful morning and played a very good, for me, 9 holes.
Now it's time for football. We are treated to Bills vs Raiders and Jets vs Cowboys before our Patriots game. What a country!!
First it's Josh, Jimmy, and Jacolby vs the turnover machine Josh Allen and the Bills.

If you pause the stream right after Adams scores the TD against the Bills, you can see the horned Bills fan just casually flipping him off. Pretty amusing.

Bills defense looked like garbage there.

I wish I was getting that game. Getting the Lions and the Chiefs/Jags games.
