That 4th and 3 throw to Diggs, was reminiscent of those prime Rodgers impossible to defend back shoulder throws, with how early he threw it and the accuracy. If he starts doing that consistently look out.

Going through the rest of schedule the other day I had 10 winnable games. They can win those games by playing clean, no turnover football. They can lose those games by making mistakes and turning the ball over.
Yesterday was one of those games. So with 2 wins and 9 winnable left, they could have as many as 11 wins.

The problem with picking games this early in the season is that not only do we not know if the Patriots are going to be a lot better v better v no better and the same for the teams they are playing against. Anything can happen to any team at any time during an entire season. It's like trying to figure how your baby daughter is going to turn out when she grows up: pretty or not so much. :rolleyes:

I think assessing @TB and @BAL as tossups is pretty optimistic. I'd say those are likely losses, at least as things currently stand. That's still a 9 win season by chevs's methodology. That said, I agree with bideau that Atlanta and Cleveland are...not likely wins, but better than tossups.

They'll also likely lose one game that we're penciling as wins now. Might win one of the ones we consider likely losses. That's typically how it goes.

I was going for 3 categories: ''most likely" 1)wins and "most likely" 2)losses and possible wins or losses I called 3)toss-ups. I wouldn't say TB and Bal are definitely losses although,
like you, I lean that way. For example, I saw Pittsburgh as a likely win and it was except for 5 turnovers. No one can predict the things that happened in that game.

I can see a range of 9-11 wins total as realistic right now & if they show the continuous and rapid improvement we've seen the last 2 weeks, even 12 wins is feasible.
The guys seem to be believing in themselves now.
 
I have hope for a winning record this season, it's a crapshoot as far as wins and losses, as is the NFL every season, but Buffalo this week will show a lot about where we actually are. We've been competitive all season, let's be competitive with Buffalo, not turn the ball over, and see what happens.

Maybe, but I'm going to be very careful about taking any moral victories from a "good loss" to Buffalo after terrible teams played them fairly close in consecutive weeks.
 
I'll weigh in with my Curtis Martin and Lawyer Milloy jerseys, both were gone the season after I bought them.
 
I think the year I bought my Rodney Harrison jersey he was irreparably injured and then never was a Patriot again. The year I bought my bruschi jersey he had a stroke. the year I bought my Welker jersey he tore his acl. Third times a charm so to speak and I stopped buying jerseys after that.

Rodney forever! Him overcome with tears and his arm in a sling at the end of the SB really touched me. Although his rep as a mean, vicious, even dirty player never resonated with me. He just always played with high motor and threw his body around with abandon. No wonder he was injured so often.

If it weren't for Rodney, Kurt Warner wouldn't be in the hall of fame. he's the one who hit Trent green and tore up his knee in 99. 1 thing people don't know is iirc that he felt so awful about that even though he wasn't trying to hurt Trent green I believe he contemplated retirement.
