Week 8 Other Games thread

After this weekend, I'm less impressed by the top of the NFC.

You and anyone else who was paying attention is less impressed with the NFC.

Panthers 7-0 needed 3 ints to squeak by the mighty Indianapolis Colts in OT.
Packers 6-1 had their old fashioned isolation route offense crushed by the Broncos.
Cardinals 6-2 needed an inspiring speech by Arians at halftime to come back from a 20-10 deficit to the awesome 2 win Browns.
Giants 4-4 gave up 52 points and 7 TDs to Brees' 3 win NO Saints.

Seattle at 4-4 is currently 3rd in the NFC West but they are as well positioned as any team to make it through to the SB.

After earlier in the game, I wasn't exactly thinking what would happen, would happen. The Colts played better then last week, who knows what will happen with the Bronco's, especially with Manning being in Indy.

You can beat Denver. You are in Manning's head. But can't play sloppy and have to start fast like you did vs Pats.

Is this right? The Colts are 3-5 and they still lead the AFC South? And everyone says the Patriots win the division every year because the rest of the division is so bad????

They are tied record wise with Houston at 3-5 but have the tiebreaker because they beat them. Also, the Jags at 2-5 are half game out of the lead. Just horrific division all the way around but it is not a slam dunk that Indy will win it at this point.

Yes, the game was not pretty last night and I am sleepy from staying up and watching it. The excessive rain, the mistakes, the poor execution of plays and we can go on. But a W is nice and they beat the Colts.. which to me is always and will always be a win.

I laughed out loud when Tirico said, pregame, "Last year the Colts were an AFC Finalist, and they have a banner that proves it".

Something is off with Cam Newton. I really like his skillset but he seems to be a bonehead at times. He is the NFC version of Dalton in some ways.

Oh heck yeah. There are some weeks I am yelling so hard at him I am surprise he does not hear me. After which there are some games and he is pretty fun to watch.

His running ability worries me, the coaches use that way to much for my own comfort but I get why they do it.

Last night was the worst I've seen him play this year but he was noticeably hobbling around like an old man between plays. He's taken a beating this year for sure.

Yep, same here the worse I have seen him. I don't want to blame it on the rain, partly but just partly. He has taken a beating when he was carrying the team when a lot of his front men were injured or hurting. He is a big guy, damn he is a big guy, but they need to do better.

Now the Dline, hello, they are fun to watch, very fun to watch.

Seattle barely beat the cowboys when the boys had horrible Qb production..

After last night's game, Andrew Luck has a passer rating of 71.6.

It's not the worst for 2015 - that number is 63.6, and it belongs to Ryan Mallet, who isn't in the league anymore.

But Luck's number is worse than Kaepernick's 78.8, and Kaepernick just got benched in favor of Blaine Gabbert (a career rating of 66.8).

So either Luck is hurt and not showing up on the injury list, or he's healthy, and his peers are Gabbert and Mallet.

The Colts are the 1st team in history lose after leading in OT. Karma :toast:

:clap::clap::clap::clap::clap::clap:

The banner is in order.

I love all of this.:)

Well, despite the CAM hype train, Newton's rating is also only 78.1.

Yeah, I noticed that too.

But I didn't want to make my post any longer or more complicated by ragging on Newton.

There's quite a few planeteers with TL;DR syndrome. :D

Just thought it was funny seeing that after reading a comment in an SI article stating that he's now an MVP-caliber QB ...
