What Is The Last Movie You Saw

We watched The Crow yesterday. My wife said that she had a secret date planned for us. Then she told me that the original Crow was back in theaters for an anniversary showing or something like that. That was one of our favorite movies when we were dating in high school. I think we saw it like four times in the theater alone. I had just played 18 holes and was pretty wiped out so I didn't ask too many questions and just went along with it. We sat down in the theater and watched like 30 minutes of trailers. Then the movie started. I looked over to my wife during the opening scene and was like "This doesn't look familiar at all". She had a really confused look on her face too. Then I immediately realized that we were at the remake of The Crow. I got a good laugh out of that.

I wanted it to be good because I like Bill Skarsgard but I just wasn't feeling it. The original Crow had so many awesome villains but this one didn't have a single one. And that soundtrack is still one of the best ever. I will say that this movie had one of the longest and most gruesome fight scenes that I think I have ever seen.

Ooh, that's tough if you sat down with your heart set on the OG film. I've already decided I will check this one out on a flight or at home when it comes out on video but I do want to see it.

just got back from Furiosa. Really well done and a good watch. i might have to say there's too much action and will be curious to see what others think once they see it.

I finally saw it last week and thought it was the best of the 5 Mad Max films. The visuals were stunning and the action scenes jaw-dropping. While
the plot seemed full of holes, who cares? One of the best post-apocalyptic films ever done. This film got huge props and standing
Os at Cannes and then the critics started picking it apart, so I figured I'd see for myself. I stand with the Cannes folks on this one. It's nuts.

I saw the new Deadpool and Wolverine at Gillette and not only thought it was a fun train wreck, but I loved Marvel basically admitting that they
have been mostly fucking up ever since Endgame and they are going to go back to giving the people what they want in order to make fat stacks
around the world as Deadpool himself explains in various ways. It only took them 3 or 4 years to figure that out, but better late then never. Stick
with the proven Marvel canon because your sad attempts at new super hero creations are embarrassing . Stick with the formula and the
people will watch. I now have hope that the MCU is not dead. Read the room, Kevin Feige.

One movie I want to plug is "Logan Lucky" on Netflix. It's a quirky heist comedy featuring excellent performances by Channing Tatum and Adam Driver as a
couple of brothers from West Virginia who end up getting involved in a wild scheme to rob the Charlotte Motor Speedway. Great cast and clever writing brings a number
of unexpected twists and turns right up to the end. Sometimes modest expectations deliver surprisingly good entertainment. This one was a sleeper.

I went to see The Crow the other night and was sorely disappointed. It was dragged out and the biggest problem was the final villain's demise. Exactly who was he?? You were led the entire movie that he was Satan on Earth until the very end . Won't spoil the ending. His exit just plain sucked.

I thought that there were many problems with the transitions from death to life and back dead and then return. Maybe I'm getting old and have been watching way too many movies. This one has to be near the bottom of my tar pit.

The original movie was good, sound track was very good.

2nd one sucked, sound track was good.

This one I just heard about, the sound track sounds iffy.

Don't bother to see 'The Crow'. Not even close to the original and the characters are confusing. Don't pay to rent it. It'll be free before Halloween.

Saw Reagan at the theater yesterday.

Denis Quaid did an amazing job. His voice, mannerisms, smile, spot on.

The wife and I went to Beetlejuice Beetlejuice yesterday. We had differing views on the movie. She wasn't expecting much and was actually pleasantly surprised. I had high hopes for this one and ended up feeling let down. It was still a decent movie and if you're a fan of the original, I think you will still enjoy it. The oddest thing to me was that I felt like the CGI effects that they used actually somehow looked worse than the animation that they used in the original movie. 🤷‍♂️

I just watched the movie Sneakers - a spy movie with a far-fetched plot but a wonderful cast and great soundtrack.

Robert Redford, Sidney Portier, Dan Akroyd, River Phoenix, and a few others that big movie buffs will recognize.

It's currently free on TubiTV and is worth watching, if only for the scene that take place in a Chinese restaurant with a live musician singing Bad, Bad Leroy Brown. In Chinese.

Last movie I saw in theaters was Joker, Which I liked. Yup was that long ago.

Last movie I saw on netflix was .Appollo 13 survival. Everybody knows the story but was cool to see some real footage .

Ben Kingsley too. That's a good one. Pre-cell phone technology, which would have changed the movie a lot. I love when River Phoenix asks for the "young lady with the machine guns'" number at the end.

Tahiti.

Yes, that whole last scene is completely farcical, and quite enjoyable. :toast:

Last film I caught in the theater was Parasite right before COVID kicked in, which was kind of a Korean horror comedy and I really enjoyed it. Last films I streamed were Oppenheimer and Killers of the Flower Moon. Oppenheimer was excellent, IMO. Killers of the Flower Moon - no one at 80 has the skill set that they once did, but Scorsese still did a nice job telling a story that I would have otherwise been unaware of.

I liked Decaprio's performance. He did a good job playing a dumb guy who did mean things to his wife, which was a different kind of role for him. Didn't like Deniro's performance as much. He's so New York that when he does southern accents, he seems kind of theatrical and fake (like in Cape Fear). It was slow in places, but worth the watch for me overall.
