So I was innocently tuned in to watch the Nebraska vs Cincinnati game. Within 5 minutes the camera goes to the future Mr.and Mrs Swift. It seems life it was on them forever and the announcer went on and on and I felt like throwing up.

What a great movie. One DB Sweeney line in it is responsible for my long successful marriage. When the Moira Kelly character said that she didn't think they were good for each other, the DB Sweeney character said something like, "We better hope we're good for each other because I don't think either one of us is good for anyone else." My wife and I had been married less than a year at the time and were already in trouble. We looked at each other at that point in the movie because we both realized that was us. Neither of us was ever going to find someone else who'd put up with our crap.
We've sorted through our baggage since then and are cruising now, but that line was on each of our minds during troublesome times. You want a relationship, Bucko? You better apologize for you part and forgive her/him for their part. (Lots of couples therapy helped as well.)
Just like an NFL team, when you're winning, everything is fine. When you're losing, you get coached up and work hard at the weaknesses in your game.

Always excited for a new season but I’ve been overly optimistic the last couple of seasons, trying to temper expectations this year. At the end of the day I’ll take competitive, exciting football, not sure how it’s going to pan out but last year, Sundays were just miserable.
It was awful wasn't it. Just pure crap. We learned how other fanbases must feel.

Yes, I hope it was rock bottom and we can actually enjoy the season again. I was a Pats fan long before the success and will be one until the end.
