Indeed. If France play to their potential, nobody will stop them. We'll see.
I thought Spain would roll Portugal. They won but are Spain not as good as i thought (can they challenge France or Argentina) will admit i only watch world cup unless i stumble across some other tournament like CONCAFF or whatever they call that
Oh dear, did not see that coming. The US were a shambles. Belgium have been pretty poor but it was an easy win for them in the end. A real shame to see all three host countries out. A tournament needs at least one of them to make the semi-finals at least.

Yeah. It's the problem with awarding World Cups to countries where the game isn't that popular (Mexico excepted, of course). Qatar was even worse.
Belgium has a population of 12 million. The US 330,000,000. There are soccer programs in every US city and small town from 5 years old through HS and colleges have teams.
Yet we get our ass kicked by Belgium. That is embarrassing. People will say that I don't know anything about soccer. They would be correct.
I tried watching the game last night and was bored.
American Football, even womans flag football, is ten times as exciting. I'd rather watch Wimbledon tennis.

US team were a mess. Easy to look at the third Belgium goal as an obvious screw up (queue the benny hill theme song) but the first two Belgium goals looked way to wasy to this casual fan

Portgual has a very good team. I’d put them behind Spain, France and Argentina, but similar to England. Portugals main problem is that Ronaldo «has» to play. He is way over the top.

Here in the USA our best athletes will be playing big guy football. basketball, baseball, not so "over there".

Most insane game you'll ever see. Egypt v Argentina. Egypt were 2-0 up and were in control. Argentina couldn't score, then with 10 mins to go they got one back, then Messi, the little genius, scored, and then in stoppage time they got the winner. The noise from their fans in Atlanta has been insane.
That game was sick. Argentina was all but defeated.

See? Now you know what it's like to have your arse kicked by a small nation across the Atlantic.
If you do a deep dive into soccer in the US, you will find that no one really takes it seriously.
All those millions of "soccer moms" dropping their kids off to practice or games, is just another way to get the little bastards out of their hair. And the males that play soccer in high school are the ones who can't make the football team. Gillette is less than half full for "professional" soccer games.
So losing a soccer game to a team from a country better known for making waffles is embarrassing, only because it was on our home ground. But is CA really part of the US?

Yeah, because of the slave trade that helped build the US as well.
The difference is Pats won it all by themselves. Argentina literally got a goal erased in their favor, many favorable calls their way and ultimately opened the gates for the "amazing comeback".
It stinks so much of foul play the FBI is getting involved.
