Your Jukebox

Besides Queen being my all-time favorite band, my biggest memory of this song was from a jukebox. My wife and I were in a pizza joint when someone picked this song. I had listened to the album dozens of times, so when I heard the intro, I instantly knew what was coming, Brian's guitar followed by Roger's drums and of course, Freddies's vocals.

A lot of great stuff back there, bikers and wannabe bad cats will be talking about that jukebox at the Do Drop In.

Baker Street is a sick riff. Unfortunately, also a great example of a writer coming up with a great hook, but just mailing in the verses and structure.

If you're looking for sexy-ass saxophone riffs with some actual pride in the writing and song construction, I give you Dire Straits.

Your Latest Trick, of course:

And the sick live version of On Every Street from On The Night:

...which comes off as a romantic love song, but is actually about a PI/bounty hunter.

That said, you'd want those in a jukebox in a place that has slower, more moody times.

What about some songs the bar can sing along with?

And another song with an amazing and can't-help-but-sing-along chorus, but mailed in verses:

...which also brings us a hall-of-shame level terrible lyric:
"Thanks for the joy that you've given me/
I want you to know I believe in your song"
But damn if it isn't sick to sing with a group around a campfire or at the end of the night in a bar.

Keep in mind, I'm trying to make this a money-making jukebox...with stuff I like, that won't drive me nuts to hear all the time in my place.

If I'm just putting in 100 songs for me, it would look pretty different fersher.
