Zeke

The tweet says UP TO $6mil. That means if he has a good year, he will get that. If he has a good year then he'll be worth it. If not, then it's small money.
I couldn't care less about the money, of healthy it changes the depth of the RB room which is going to be huge. He has an element of the bruising back that we really didn't have and his pass blocking on third downs should be huge. There's nothing to bitch about here but I'm sure someone will find something.

Pass Pro. Rhamandre tire-tread-saver.
Also, I guarantee that contract's not worth anything close to $6million.
It's guaranteed at least 4 million, that's not nothing, but I don't see why we should care, they still have plenty to make a move at Oline and I wouldn't be shocked if we see a trade for a vet tackle before final cuts.

There's no way the Patriots would have signed Dalvin Cook after his domestic abuse issue came out.
Goodell will have something to say about how many games he can play this year.

"I'm not as good as I once was, but I'm as good once as I ever was" is a line from a country
song and it fits the situation. I believe signing here indicates that Zeke is looking for a career
reset and wants to get away from the grits and glitz of Big D and get back to work.

The money is good, his pass pro is excellent and he will help Mondre extend his career and
keep him fresher than just putting the entire load of the O on the kid's shoulders.

He's not as good in space as he was when he was the best back in the league, but he's hard-nosed
and will help us put the biscuit in the basket. Defenses will have to watch him on the goal line and guys
like Gesicki and Henry will benefit. He doesn't put the ball on the ground. He catches well. He's a vet that
figures to adjust to a different system and there is no reason to think this isn't a solid move and maybe
more.

My main reason for being skeptical of this signing was money and this deal turned out to be a lot
cheaper than numbers discussed a short while back.

Now, let's see how bad he wants to work, buy into the program and finish his career in a way that enhances
his legacy. This move makes a ton of sense.

He clearly wants to be here. Mac obviously did a good job as well selling the team to him when he took him out to dinner recently. If players want to be here, it means they've done the research on Bill and the culture here and want to be a part of it. The Patriots are not for everybody, but if you're. genuine team player and are all about being the best teammate for your comrades and do your job well; there's no better place to play.

There are some great leaders in that lockerroom, Judon, Slates, Mac, Andrews, Henry, Reiff.....those guys will show him the ropes and Bill always did love a swiss army knife player. Zeke has multiple strings to his bow,

Between suspension and inevitable injury, how many games does Cook play this year? Over/Under's probably around 6.

The below does seem to be a consensus among the mainstream (non-Patriot beat) reporters. They are really big on this acquisition.

"unique roster construction"

I like that turn of phrase. It sums things up nicely, is NOT an insult and I'm excited to see how it looks on the field and
not just on paper. The buzz doesn't affect me, but I have been noticing some props starting to build as the people that
judge the NFL begin to realize that we aren't the slappies they had us penciled in to be.

This could be one of the most fun seasons ever.

I expect that Pats signed Zeke for short yardage and goal line situations.

Partly to reduce the workload on Rhamondre Stevenson, and also because Bill wants a guy that won't fumble in crucial situations.

I actually wouldn't be surprised if Bill uses Zeke in 3rd and long, not as a pass catcher, but as a blocker.

I think this makes Stevenson a 2 down back.
