What to Make of the 2014 Season<?xml:namespace prefix = "o" ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />
The 2014 off season could go down as one of the more memorable ones in Patriots’...
Brady is almost untradeable until 2017 because his contract is fully guaranteed.
Dead money by season:
2014: 32M
2015: 18M
2016: 12M
2017: 6M
6M in dead isn't tooo bad but 12 is a bit high, so even if TB does take a turn for the worst performance wise, he's not being traded until 2017.
I mean, his shirt looks bulged out but that's because he has massive pecs.
I don't see a gut there at all. You wanna see a gut, go check or Wilfork lol
PFF is trash.
But Revis, if he can return to 2009-2011 form, is the best. Great signing and I hope we can lock him up for 3-4 more seasons.
Our defense is going to be top 5 without a doubt this year.
I think BB wants to make Ryan a safety in case Harmon or Wilson don't turn into anything.
But I also think BB would be content walking out DMC and Ryan as two ballhawkers behind a very good group of CBs.
Even if Revis is gone next season, Dennard, Browner and Arrington are under contract, so...
When I said throw a mil or two at him I meant in the total deal to match Denver's 2/12 or go 2/14. I never said I wanted to pay WW 8M a year. That's insane.
And here it would have been 5000 times different here. The first 4-5 weeks the rookies and Brady struggled together. Amendola got hurt...
Exactly he was injury prone and so was Amendola. Both prior to 2013 hadn't played a full season.
That's a huge risk walking into a season with two guys here to supposedly replace WW but cant stay healthy. Imagine if JE screwed up his foot again, that would've been horrible.
But, it...
I think this FA season, BB completely read the market on Edelman and did a beautiful job with it. Last off season he was willing to let JE walk, shown when he was in NY for a visit. I think BB would've easily let JE walk last off season if he was offered anything more than a million.
I...
Amendola was a bust this past season compared to what was expected of him.. credit to that can be put on Edelman for stepping up and making things happen
BB got lucky that JE didn't get an offer bigger than 1M from another team because Amendola wasn't 100% most of the season and Boyce wasn't...
Paid like a top WR? 6 million a year is top WR money now? Didn't we just give Amendola about that money? He's a top WR since when?
Yeah he walked away from NE and he can screw off for all I care, but NE could've thrown another Mil or 2 at him.
those performance accelerators were bs though, it was like 1300 yards, 1500 yards for the money..
also WW got the 2/12 offer from Denver then came back to NE and gave them a chance to match it... seriously a mil more AAV?
I blame both WW and BB for the departure
2/12 wouldn't have killed the Patriots.
Welker's really went downhill last season because he had Mr. Duck Manning throwing him the ball so he took a lot more abusive hits imo.
I still think the Pats would've been fine offering WW 2/12 matching Denver's offer
