Looking at the Patriots - 2014

Joseph tore the patellar tendon in his right knee during 2012 preseason game versus Pats. Was in IR for 2012 season and probably his level play in 2013 was affected. Pretty sure Schiano has plenty of information about his healing process and has shared it with buddy Bill. Could be a low risk/...

Some names that fits that description (good versus running, decent pass rushers) that can be available in the 2nd, IMHO, listed in my preference order: - Scott Crichton, Oregon St. 6,3", 270 lbs. Good pass rusher, strong, powerful, very good use of hands and good leverage . Can set edge very...

Looking at the Patriots - 2014

Not very important, but I think you must include also Slater, as WR/Special Teamer, so, in fact there are 10 WR: - Edelman, Amendola, LaFell, Dobson, Thompkins (starting experience) - Boyce (some experience coming off IR) - Harrison (unknown coming off IR) - Dunn, Orton (reserve/futures) -...

And as MaineMan predicted, Pats are showing interest in Will Smith:

Per @ClaytonESPN, free-agent DE Will Smith, formerly of the Saints, is visiting New England today.
— Mike Reiss (@MikeReiss) <a...

Two more names that can play this role of "coverage LB": - Christian Kirksey, Iowa, 6,2", 233 lbs in Combine. In his Pro Day ran 40 yard dash in a very good 4,48 seg. Versatil player, can coverage, blitz, run support. Also a very good special teamer with a lot of experience. And last but not...

    2014 Patriots Draft Talk

Yes, it would be OK if Pats get him in 3rd round or later. Strong safety with good coverage, range and ballskills. Hard hitter, very strong athlete, but has to improve as tackler, poor technique, don`t wrap up, can be solved with proper coaching. Not good backpedal neither fluid hips.

    2014 Patriots Draft Talk

I would like draft a player that can play in the Strong Safety role, but I believe there are no one that has value at 1st or 2nd round. I don't like Calvin Pryor in these rounds, but could be a good adition in 3rd, but is highly unlikely he will avalaible then. On the other hand, his teammate...

Ah, that's make sense, and now I think you're right about considerations over postseason honors. Many thanks for explanation.

I think so. I've read that formula to calculate compensatory picks includes also post-season honors achieved by players involved, and I guess that Welker reaching SuperBowl has had some kind of heavy influence in this result.

Looking at the Patriots - 2014

A few days ago I guessed this three had been released previously with a injury settlement, but now we have the correct answer. Do you include TE D.J.Williams in this 60 players under contract?. I have read contradictory reports about his contract length (some says today would be a free agent...

    2014 Patriots Draft Talk

You are right, we haven`t see quite a lot of Zusevics in a Pats uniform (mostly injured), but in Iowa he seemed as a possible decent rigth tackle in NFL, if not as material starter, at least as backup. I have recall his name not because I believe he can be a special player, but only because...

    2014 Patriots Draft Talk

Yes, chevss, but both were released with the injury designation, so, when 24 hours later they cleared waivers, both were reversed to the IR list. That's the reason why Maine Man has mentioned Fisher and Schwab as IR'd players, but as I have said in previous post, now they aren`t in Patriots...

    2014 Patriots Draft Talk

With respect to all the good stuff you guys have written in last two pages about OL, one question: No one, if I'm not wrong, has even metioned Markus Zusevics as possible Rigth Tackle depth, and that can be, IMHO, a interesting option that can enable move Marcus Cannon to Rigth Guard and Dan...
