Tom Curran :Bottom Liners Completely Miss the Point"

It could be injury or surgery, but something tells me that had he won the SB, he would have played.

Tom Curran :Bottom Liners Completely Miss the Point"

I agree. I was feeling all proud of them and happy to see them in nearly half the SB's from the last decade. But now I see that this team sucks. What was I thinking before?

I'm not even a Pats fan but does this make anyone else mad along with me?

Yes, it was knocked out of his hands (which caused him to DROP IT). Don't get your semantics in a knot over this. The real point is that he should NOT have had it knocked out at all. The receiver got lazy - perhaps already celebrating the win in his head. He wasn't focused on what was...

Gisele places public blame on Pats receivers

This. With the exception of Gronk, it seems Brady has to be near perfect with his passes, otherwise they are incompletions. And since Gronk was hurt, Brady had to be near perfect, which is damn tough to do when he was rushed and harrassed nearly every play. So either the O-line had to step...

The Only Good Thing About This Loss...

I'm not even a Pats fan but does this make anyone else mad along with me?

As much of a fan I am of the Pats - and this may shock some people here - I felt for the Ravens in that game. Sure, I jumped for joy when the FG went wide, but the dropped TD pass was inexcusable. And I know if I were a Ravens' fan, I would have been devastated. And with the Pats' two SB...

While most of Team is in somber mood, Gronk & Light Party Hard!

And, usually ALL members of a team travel together, unless the coach gives permission. Clearly BB had given permission for this to occur.

    Get on Record with this.

Does it? Take away the 2 points but keep all else the same. Giants still get two FG in the second half. As a result, instead of 17-15 game, it's 17-13. Then NY scores the TD - add 6 points. Instead of 17-21, it's 17-19. Coughlin, in this scenario, will definitely not go for 2 point...

    Get on Record with this.

I have seen intentional grounding called when a QB has thrown the ball away (i.e., out of bounds). So why would it have been better to throw it in the stands and not just safely downfield where there "could" have been a receiver?

Guys, Let just be real about this loss.....

It's for all the reasons mentioned above - # of sacks, decent enough overall defense (despite high in yards given up), dropped catches (that had they been made, it's possibly another SB win), etc., that the Pats are favored once again in Vegas. And I agree. Now, who knows if this loss will...

While most of Team is in somber mood, Gronk & Light Party Hard!

Edit: I wrote my comments below without seeing The Gr8est's post. We clearly agree! Playing against NE is, for some teams, their SB. I'm also a Notre Dame fan. And while ND hasn't been champs in a long time, each year, they have that threat. As a result, each year, teams play ND at their...

    To the Giant Fans

Had SF not had 2 huge fumbles - that led to 10 Giants' points, they are not in the SB. Had the Pats' receivers actually caught the ball, the Giants are not SB champs. I view luck as a big part of the game. The Bills' short kick going wide giving the championship in the early 90's - luck. The...

    To the Giant Fans

But c'mon - you probably hate the Giants too! The only Giants' team I respected was in 1986, when they brought almost the same defense as the '85 Bears. Now that was a strong team. The rest - lucky as shit. The Bills' missed FG? The Helmet Catch? The dropped passes? The ball just barely...

While most of Team is in somber mood, Gronk & Light Party Hard!

I wish I was in New England. I want TB and all the Pats to know how proud I am - that we ALL are - of them. That they still have our admiration, respect and maybe even love. Maybe when TB sees that support, that people still believe in him, that will get his hopes up. 5 SB's in 11 years...

DeOssie Needs to Get the &$%# Out of Here!

I, for one, am fully convinced that ALL teams cheat. The Pats just got sloppy and were caught. But I fully believe this. I mean - really? This 18-0 juggernaut suddenly can't score more than 14 points? It's like Warner complaining about the Pats in 2002 - they suddenly couldn't score and now...

    Brady's postgame

It is a painful article - but is it any different than any other "loser" from a big event? If the Pats had won, do you think Eli would go skipping off happily to NY? When the Rangers lost consecutive World Series, do you think they all cheerfully sang "never fear, we'll get them next year!"...

While most of Team is in somber mood, Gronk & Light Party Hard!

Does Gronk ever wear a shirt? He's like Marky Mark. Then again, if I had a built like either of them, I guess I'd go shirtless a lot too. :) I get TB's very sad state. So close 2x to the same team and yet, so far. And now, time is running out. But hopefully, TB snaps out of it too and...

Bray can't close them out anymore

Well, before you get too down and out on TB, remember, he just broke the Super Bowl record for consecutive completions on Sunday, throwing 16 straight in the Patriots' loss. The previous record, 13 straight, was set by Joe Montana, in the 1990 Super Bowl. So much for being washed up and unable...

Bray can't close them out anymore

I don't know how many times I've not seen Peyton or Favre or Roethlisberger or Elway not close out games. Even the great Montana had his choke moments. We've grown used to being rescued by TB. But the fact is, a win hides all the many mistakes. If the Pats won in either '08 or yesterday, we'd...
