Superbowl LI - Patriots V Falcons

And what does any of that have to do with "Patriots always beating animals", but losing to the Bears in 85? Roberto has already acknowledged that he was using a model that excluded Bears as animals. Everything else is tangent.

Thanks for clearing that up. I didn't realize there was an Ursidae exclusion.

Superbowl LI - Patriots V Falcons

I have no idea what you're talking about. Someone said the Patriots always beat animals in the Super Bowl, referencing wins against Rams, Eagles, Panthers, and Seahawks, and implying the losses against Giants and Packers (non-animals). Bears are animals and the Bears beat the Patriots in 85...

Aqib Talib? Or were you not referring to people who left in free agency?

    Broncos' Turn To Cry, Baby

That IS the reason to pass there. Misdirection is a huge part of success, and this was a golden opportunity to try to catch the Patriots in the wrong look. Browner did a great job prepping Butler before the play, and Butler made an incredible play on the ball. Without the interception, which...

    We're on to the Donkeys

Most teams can't field a pass rush as fast and as relentless as the Broncos last year. How many other games was Brady hit 20+ times? Oh, zero? The craptacular blocking was able to be hidden against most defenses because of the scheme. I'm pretty sure the Patriots won more than they lost last...

    Broncos' Turn To Cry, Baby

Not everything is always about the Patriots. This is more a result of the defense having to carry an inept and getting worse offense for the past 33 games than anything specific to the Patriots.

If that's the way it was intended then I misunderstood and apologize. The Broncos were absolutely physically outmatched everywhere on the field other than their secondary. I agree the AFCCG had the same ass-whoopin' feel, but I was reprimanded by a number of Patriot fans (not on this site) for...

Sorry, I didn't realize. I have corrected my original reference, and apologies for the gender mixup. Text blocks don't have visible gender queues, and I'm not really a member of the community. Honest mistake.

It should be less perplexing when it's in response to people claiming a blowout. It's not like I jumped in here 10 minutes after the game and started making noise. My initial response was to this: Does that help clear it up for you?

    We're on to the Donkeys

It wasn't really hard work, it's just the facts. The Patriots have a better team overall this year, they have a strong run game which is a defensive weakness for the Broncos, and their defense should absolutely have been able to shut down this miserable offense. Should I have come in here...

A terrible offense played badly. STOP THE PRESSES!! I wasn't claiming the Broncos played wel, just pointing out that the Patriots hardly gave an "ass whoopin'" The weakass run D was run against. Again, this is a surprise? What is a surprise is it was only 136 yards and only 1 TD. Oakland...

Not as much as I enjoyed the last 2 AFC Championship Game matchups between our two teams. But if winning a regular season game against an inferior Broncos team does it for you, then grats, I guess. As for ass whoopin', Brady sure did light it up: 16/32 188 yards 0TD They sure did put on a 16...

I guess I have to give reading lessons too... I said a ZBS demands good blocking and a spread offense can hide terrible blocking. OPT thought he was being clever when he mentioned offenses that demand shitty blocking, implying that all offenses need good blocking, when, in fact, you can hide...

    We're on to the Donkeys

Well...yeah. Like a spread offense with short routes and only 2 seconds or so from snap to pass. That can hide pretty terrible blocking a lot of the time because the guys up front don't have to do much more than be there. A ZBS run heavy offense with a lot of play action and long developing...

The entire secondary is more than "pretty stout". Theiy're giving up less than 200 yards per game through the air, and opposing QBs' rating against Talib is lower than if they just chucked it out of bounds instead of at his receiver. Losing Trev and Jackson didn't hurt as much as the injuries...
