As expected, the Patriots have promoted quarterback Matt Gutierrez from the practice squad for Sunday's game against the Jets.
If the Patriots didn't make the move, they would have entered with just Matt Cassel and Kevin O'Connell at quarterback.
The club has not officially announced the move at this time.

Makes sense. There's no point in keeping Jones on the 53-man roster if Hobbs/Slater and Welker/O'Neal are your returners.

How do you know? Cassel has been playing and practicing in the NE offensive system for 3+ years now. Culpepper's talent was largely based on his mobility and strength. He's neither as mobile as he once was or as strong.
