"Religion of Sports" - 6, 1hour episodes should be some good TV

Set your DVRs, Patriots Nation. Tom Brady and Michael Strahan may have been at odds on the field, but the two are teaming up for a television project set to premiere in November.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, The Audience Network picked up six hour-long episodes of "Religion of Sports," a documentary series created by Tom and Michael. The series will explore the impact of sports in society and culture by looking deeply at events and trends, including episodes focused on the Calgary Stampede and NASCAR events.
Tom said that he has been drawn to the way sports can incite such strong emotion since he was a kid and wanted to explore it further.
"I'll never forget watching "The Catch' in Candlestick Park with my dad. I was 4 years old, in awe of it all," Tom said in a statement to the Hollywood Reporter. "In a lot of ways, I've dedicated my life to replicating that feeling. Now playing on the same stage as my childhood idols, I'm fortunate to have a pretty unique perspective on football and the sports world. I can think of no better vehicle than 'Religion of Sports' to share some of what I've learned and dig a little deeper into that feeling, the sort of spiritual experience that sports creates for players and fans alike."
This spiritual experience that many players, fans and coaches experience through the world of sports is something that binds people from all backgrounds together, Michael said.
"Growing up in Germany, I never imagined myself to be a professional athlete. At that point, I was a professional fan. Watching the reaction of the country when Germany won the World Cup back in 1990 showed another level of fandom that I had never seen," Michael said. "Sports can be that void that brings everyone together regardless of any barriers in socio-economic standing, race and religion. To be a part of this project, 'Religion of Sports,' brings full circle the things that I have learned as a child without even knowing that in some ways, I was having a religious experience. 'Religion of Sports' will be the bridge that connects the passion of religion with the passion of sports."
The series is set to premiere on Nov. 15 at 8 p.m. EST. Patriots fans (and sports fans) everywhere will be eagerly waiting to see what Tom and Michael have created.
