As for this thread, clearly, it's not about bitching at the refs.

Then why the accompanying your question? Clearly implicit in your question was that you think the refs are wrong to move the ball back to where they believe it should be, not where the runner stretched out to place it.

THAT's why some people reacted the way they did IMO.
