Pretty soon we'll be seeing special teamers or Olinemen filling in on the Dline if some of those guys don't get better soon. Another game where the Dline will be really gassed at the end if the offense can't stay on the field for extended times.

Aaron Hernandez among six downgraded for Patriots

Posted by Gregg Rosenthal on December 26, 2010, 8:16 AM EST

The Patriots left town before a blizzard hit, but they left a lot of key players behind to deal with the elements.

Tight end Aaron Hernandez was among six Patriots downgraded before the team left for Buffalo on Saturday. Also out: starting right guard Connolly (concussion), outside linebacker Jermaine Cunningham (calf) and defensive linemen Mike Wright (concussion), Myron Pryor (back) and Brandon Deaderick (shoulder) are all out.

The Patriots have quietly been very thin on their defensive line of late. That make this week’s game against the Bills even bigger for the team. With a win, the Patriots would earn the No. 1 seed in the AFC and be able to rest borderline injured players if they chose next week.

It looks like they may be getting a week’s head start on playing it safe this Sunday.
