Law review -- Sources: Pats bring veteran corner in for physical

FOXBORO -- The Patriots’ pursuit of Ty Law has apparently gone beyond the casual, stay-in-touch phase to the point of hands-on evaluation.

According to sources, the 32-year-old, five-time Pro Bowl cornerback was scheduled to undergo a physical with the Patriots last Friday as part of a free agent visit.

It’s assumed that Law made it into town for the appointments (he was visiting Tennessee Thursday, where he reportedly passed a Titans physical), although Patriots officials would not confirm the visit.

Pats coach Bill Belichick has kept in touch with Law this offseason through a series of private phone conversations.

Ever since that Ted Washington incident, everytime he writes an article like this, I can't help but to have my doubts. It would be nice to have Law back with the team, but at what cost?

Benefits both parties. Pats get to make sure he's healthy, Law gets to scare the Titans into thinking he might go elsewhere.

If the Pats sign Law, it'll be because they have the cap room to do it. They're not going to overpay for him. If he comes back at a reasonable price, he's welcome.
