Science Fiction and Fantasy Art

Don't know if these count, and I won't spam the thread, but I have been messing around with Stable Diffusion and AI Art and created the following:

The first was inspired by Baron. It combines elements of Edgar Allen Poe, HP Lovecraft, and HR Giger.
The second is SpiderBatMan.
The third is an attempt at some just intricate fantasy art.
The fourth is an attempt at a photo realistic Elven Monk.

Not bad - the Elven Monk is a little too androgynous for my taste. The Poe/Lovecraft/Giger piece is nice.

I did a little bit of searching using Dune and Cthulhu as search terms (based on a couple of recent posts in this thread), and came up with some nice covers by Bruce Pennington.

And he did some covers for Gene Wolfe's "The Book Of The New Sun" series.

Aliya Chen was chosen to do the artwork for Brandon Sanderson's "Yumi And The Nightmare Painter"

Another source for this thread is animated fantasy movies.

Here are some cels from "The Secret Of Nimh" - one of the best drawn movies I've ever seen. It rivals the masterworks of Disney, the greatest of which (IMO) is "Pinocchio".

The movie Forbidden Planet had special effects that were considered revolutionary for that time.

I was only two when the movie was released, but I saw it sometime in my teenage years, so Anne Francis had a special effect on me.

Anyone have any idea who did the album cover art for ELP's album Tarkus?
I am a huge ELP fan and have a copy of Tarkus on vinyl.

The credits list the following: Paintings: William Neal (C.C.S. Assoc.)

I did a search on "William Neal Tarkus" and came up with this:

Edit: Here's the album cover

Here's a nice page of covers from the 1960s and 1970s.

Click on the image below and then scroll down to see dozens of covers.

I just re-read Warbreaker, by Brandon Sanderson, on my Kindle. It's my favorite Sanderson so far, but only by a little, as I've enjoyed almost everything I've read by him.

One disadvantage of the Kindle is that great cover art isn't part of the reading experience. Fortunately, the first time I read this book was a hard-cover borrowed from my local library, and I got to see the wonderful cover by Dan Dos Santos. I've copied the cover art both with and without the title/author info.
