OK, obviously I hope he comes back ( he is the reason i became a Pats fan) ( Although I have been "branch ing" out... I've started collecting Graham and Branch rookie cards)...

for most of the season.... I must admit.. Antowain did nothing to prove his worth..but the last couple of regular season games and playoffs he looked much better ( still not great)

over on Patsfan.com I noticed that most people are willing to take him back next year ( with a pay cut/ and as a backup.... which he is apparently willing ot accept)

So now PatriotPlanteers DO YOU WANT HIM BACK???

As long as he's willing to take the pay cut and accept his role. I've got to give him props for stepping it up in December and January. I think that may have swayed some public opinion. With a rookie running back likely to be picked in the draft, a veteran presence would be good.

Why not make Antowain a fullback? Hes got size and hes a hell of a blocker for Brady, plus his expierence would help any rookie running backs drafted this year.

I say we keep him around, but FOR THE LOVE OF HUZZAH DRAFT US A GOOD RUNNING BACK!!! Antowain should probably stay on, but we can't get by on the Smith/Faulk committee all the time. This team has not had a truly consistently good running back since Robert Edwards. Not that it's anybody's fault; that was a freak accident. But since then we've had Lamont Jordan, Terry Allen, Raymont Harris, etc., etc., until we've been able to get by with Smith and Faulk. (And hey, in '01-'02 even J.R. Redmond looked good at times.)

They have to make a decision on that this week....his option is due, which is $500,000 and then a $2.4 million salary for next year....I think they should decline the option and resign him at minimum with incentives....

I also read he is more than willing to take a paycut and be a backup to remain with the team.

But yeah, I would like to see a 1st round RB.

Only with a big pay cut

Amtwain should be cut unless he takes a 50% cut at least.

Pats can't win with Graham's drops......

Pats can't win with runningback by commitee

Pats can't win with Vinatieri clunking every 3rd or 4th ball

Pats can't win without Lawyer Milloy

Bledsoe (remember him? I haven't seen his name in print during the superbowl mania of the last few days!) is better than Brady

Pats can't win with all those injuries

Pats can't win with Ken Walter shanks and skunks

YES VIRGINIA-THE PATS CAN WIN WITH ANTOWAIN!!!!

(but just to be on the safe side LOL, draft or sign a good rb)

Chris Terry / Gregg Jones for RB's

Yes, Pats need to draft a RB.

Chris Terry or Gregg Jones perhaps.

I was still thinking of picking one up though, I mean a jersey for $40 is good and I think he'll be back. Besides he won two Super Bowls for us, which is more than I can say for my Bleadsoe and Martin Jersey's!
