The Floyd concert got me thinking about one of my best buds back then who was the biggest Stone fans I knew. Unfortunately, he has passed on but this was his fav Stones song ... and a great one at that.

Another song that Taylor got the credit shaft on.

Yea, gotta agree, Moonlight Mile is probably in my top 3-4 all time Rolling Stones songs. :toast:

A very tough selection to make given all the choices too. But, I agree, right up there. The ending, from about 4:20 onwards ..... is just perfectly played.

Here's some Eagles that brings back very fond memories. I always marveled at the beautiful harmonies they produced on this version.

For a few years, ELO, was near the top of the game.

and from the same album, one of my Wife's favourites

The 1st slow dance song my wife and I danced too ... back in '78.

Seven Bridges Road - always loved this version by Ian Matthews, it's the one that got heavy air play in the Denver area during the 70's:

Don't recall this one. Beautiful. Happy 40th? Yes?

I remember Love Hurts and Hair of the Dog.

Thanks but, actually, it was my wife but, she was my girlfriend at the time. Sorry, I worded that poorly.

This song is off the album "Rampant" which came out between the album that spawned the song "This Flight Tonight" and the album "Hair of the Dog" which ended up being their biggest seller largely because of "Love Hurts". Nazareth had a slew of great songs.

Song: Train
Artist: James Montgomery Band

Don't think this one has been posted yet.

Damn shame if that's true.

Oh, man. My Uncle had this on vinyl but I have not heard it in decades. I will have to see if they released it on CD. Awesome, thanks. :toast:

Yeah - it's been a long time since I heard it, too. Just popped into my head a couple of days ago.

It was remastered for CD in '98. The search is on for the CD or, if I can find it, a decent vinyl copy.

I think it takes a lot to out do an original Beatles song, but I think Sergio Mendes and Brazil '66 did it with this version of "Fool on the Hill":

Start out in the morning listening to this song, and you'll have a bounce in your step all day. :D

Late 70's, Stevie Winwood, one progressive FM favorite:

Nice selections, TR/RN.

I was listening to my "British Invasion" collection over the weekend and, man, what a treasure trove of great nostalgic songs.

Here's a few ... to start. I don't think these have been posted yet but, age is indeed catching up with me which is making it more challenging to remember all the previous song additions.

Good stuff PM! I didn't know the Foundations were a British Invasion group.

It all reminded me of this one:

And a little further down the road from the Invasion days - Van Morrison and Them - just love his version of this Dylan song:

Yeah, RN ... seeing the Foundations on that compilation was a surprise to me as well.

Also, that cover by Van is one of the best of all. That Chamberlin/Mellotron sound is addictive and perfectly compliments his tone.

Here's a few more off the British invasion list:
