Nostalgic Music Thread

Julie London - so sultry on this one, and the orchestra (remember them?) is wonderful:

There are numerous nostalgic songs by this band but G_d Damn!

This leads me off on a slight Tangent. Ritchie Blackmore's (early lead guitar) grandmother loved the old (30"s) song Deep Purple. So when the Band decided their original name wasn't working ( Roundabout) they switched to Deep Purple.

My favorite version, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vGDbXEk9USE ( the share link is disabled, sorry) Nino Tempo and April Stevens. There cover was a hit in my youth and thus, the one I grew up with. They were brother and Sister and she was hot and they both hed excellent pipes.

Cheers

Classy stuff, Glenn Miller, WW2 era:

PS: Hey BT- the song "Deep Purple" is one great tune in my book. And I agree, April Stevens is one beautiful babe....!

I went to see Alan Parsons Project Tuesday. Always was a fan, never saw him. I was stunned by the band and the excellence of the sound. The crowd was into it in a big way and it was a small intimate venue with great seating.
I go to lots of concerts and this was a top 5 it was so much fun. The band clearly was having a blast too.

If you ever have the chance it’s a must see.

Parsons did work with one of my favorite bands, Pink Floyd. Awesome that you got to see them. I'll keep an eye out to see if they come around here. :toast:

Loneliness

Tom - he wrote it, and for my money the best version out there:
