Just curious as to how the "we HAVE the talent" crowd responds to this:

In his first year in charge of the Green Bay Packers' defense, Dom Capers is Sporting News coordinator of the year.

Capers was very successful in installing his 3-4 front, overseeing a smooth transition from the Packers' old 4-3 scheme. Under his guidance, Green Bay's defense went from 20th overall in 2008 to No. 2 in the NFL in 2009.

One of Capers' best and most versatile players, cornerback Charles Woodson, was named SN's defensive player of the year. SN's coordinator of the year award was selected by a panel of 636 players, coaches and executives.

Here's how 10 of Woodson's defensive teammates summed up Capers -- in five words or fewer -- to SN Packers correspondent Tom Silverstein:

NT B.J. Raji: "Intelligent, professional and consistent"
NT Ryan Pickett: "Low tolerance for messing up"
DE Cullen Jenkins: "Intense without yelling"
SS Atari Bigby: "The Dominator"
OLB Clay Matthews: "Never too up or down"
OLB Brady Poppinga: "Professional and businesslike"
OLB Brad Jones: "Cerebral -- always thinking"
ILB Nick Barnett: "Carries an aura of confidence"
CB Tramon Williams: "A perfectionist"
S Derrick Martin: "The same every day"

The Pats were 8th in scoring defense last season; 5th this season. Perhaps Pees was masterful this season after all?

wonder if this was before or after that dominat showing in the desert.
