You do have to say, our schedule is not a particularly bad one.

  • Home: Buffalo Bills, Miami Dolphins, New York Jets, Cleveland Browns, Dallas Cowboys, Jacksonville Jaguars, New Orleans Saints, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Tennessee Titans.
  • Away: Buffalo Bills, Miami Dolphins, New York Jets, Atlanta Falcons, Carolina Panthers, Houston Texans, Indianapolis Colts, Los Angeles Chargers.

So I did not even think of it till now - with 17 games, teams have an unequal amount of home vs away games. How’s that balanced out? By division? By conference? If say the Steelers have 1 more home game and 1 fewer away game than the Ravens how is that fair? If the Steelers division has more home games than the Patriots division how is that fair?
So the only thing that’s fair is this year, the AFC has more home games than the NFC, flipped next year, but I’m not sure that’s even possible to pull off, is it?

I'm assuming this was done on purpose to use it as an excuse to add an 18th game later on down the road.

The extra game added is an AFC vs NFC game and every AFC team is at home. Next year the entire NFC will be at home.

So third place AFC East (Pats) gets third place NFC East (Cowboys) as the extra game. But in the future I think they will rotate divisions so that we don't play an NFC East team twice in the year we're rotated to that division.

That bye week is deep into the season, could be very useful for the home stretch. The first 7 games, 5 of them are Gilette games, good stuff.

One trip to the west coast.

There's never been a week 14 BYE in the history of the league.
This is crazy.
Studies show that injuries mount up weeks 7-12 and that's when teams preferred to have their BYE week since the 16 game season began.
This week 14 stuff is BS and unfair to us and the 3-4 other teams that have it.
There's no silver lining to a BYE week so far in to the season. None.
