That's the W-L record in NFL HISTORY for any team down by 25 points.
Absolutely amazing.
What other "slim to nones" did the Pats overturn last night ?
Winning after giving up a pick 6 was one.

No team has ever won with that half time deficit in the superbowl.

And didn't Tom break SB passing yards record?

WTF? Being really honest, I gave them next to no chance. I'm just glad I didn't go to bed. It's still hard to believe.

Here's one now: The Pats ran 47 more plays than Atlanta which is the biggest discrepancy in NFL playoff history.

You know, the media keeps saying the previous record for an SB comeback was 10 points - without somehow mentioning that that was also done by the Pats. I mean, correct me if I'm wrong, but they didn't they break their own record on that from SB 49!

But whatever 5 RINGS HOLY SHIT ! THAT JUST HAPPENED!!! :arrr: :cute:

Yeah. I think there have been two 10 point comebacks and Pats had one of them.

The current 25 swing is a record that will likely never get broken.

wow, it's hard to believe that we are actually living this live, and not just dusty records from long ago.

There was another component to the comeback records. Prior to the Seattle game the previous record in the SB for 4th quarter comebacks was seven points. The Patriots in SB 49 both Tied the biggest SB comeback and set the SB 4th Q comeback record with those same 10 points. Yesterday they took the overall comeback record at 25 (2.5 x the prior record) AND broke their own 10 point 4th Q comeback record with 19.

Oh yeah that was nice.

It is funny, I was saying in that Charlie Weis thread that was here not long ago how much I missed that play of his,the "fake bad snap over TB's head direct snap to Kevin Faulk" and that is what one of the two pointers was. :)

I was sitting on it. It did not surprise me. I had thought about it before we scored because the 2 pointer would be the choice and Toms silly sell has worked two or three times in the past and it seemed overdue.
