I know that the Patriots are paying lip service to treating the Bills as an opponent worthy of a week's preparation time, but between us fans, we know perfectly well they are REALLY focussed on the game AFTER this weekend, which will be the long-awaited showdown at New Jersey against Eric Mangini's Jets.

At least I hope they aren't wasting time developing a game plan for the Bills. The Jets will be a real test. Mangini knows the Patriots' strengths and weaknesses like no one else: he's practically the Dr. Z of NFL head coaches, a veritable genius, only too anxious to show that he was the real brains of the Patriots' coaching staff.

I think it's pretty obvious that the reason Deion Branch has not been traded to the Jets is that the Pats are worried about this game.

I expect to see Chad Pennington go deep early, dispelling all notion of his "noodle arm."

Kevin Barlow will set a single game rushing record. The Patriots didn't look good against the Giants run offense in their last game at the Meadowlands. This game will be a real test to see what they are really made of.

thomas, this is truely a sign that you and the New NFL Season are back.

I was hoping you would start this thread Thomas. :thumb:

We all know the Bills will be a cakewalk but I think the Jets could be a serious threat to keep us from going 2-0. Mangini is a Belichick protege and didn't he just snap up one of our players who will no doubt divulge the playbook?

It's a good thing we open up against the Bills. We can be rest assured of at least one win to start off the season.

I really think that you guys are over looking the Bills - they will play us tough.

Nonsense, this is essentially a bye week for us. The Jets will be our first true test of the season. :thumb:

I actually think it will be the Broncos that prove to be the first true test, but I'm reluctant to look past the Jets, lest we lose our focus.

Do you really think so though? I mean, it wasn't THAT long ago when they spanked us in the opener, and no one saw that coming. Looks like they finally have some semblance of an o-line, and Mcgahee is a capable back.

welcome to the planet Daniel-son, but you have much to learn for the only things they spank this year will be the monkey

While this is a good dicussion for us fans, as we look ahead to the Patriots "first, true test" I somehow think that BB and co are not treating it that way.

OK, continue.....

I don't think so, I know so! The Bills are a straight up pushover and even though we're giving up 8.5 points I'll be laughing all the way to the casino when I go cash in my winning ticket. :thumb:

Not sure about the Jets though, gotta see what the line opens at. If it's anything over 1.5 I think I'll just not bet it. I'm not too sure we can win let alone cover.

Oh and welcome to the planet! :thumb:

how could we forget??!!

Why I remember that game like it was 3 years ago this Thursday!

Well, you guys are a lot more confident than I am. Imo, it would not shock me if Buffalo sqeeked by us in the opener.

Great thread...... you guys must have gotten alot better to be so confident of a victory.

I guess you've improved..... Maroney should run all....oh, ...er...sorry.

At least that speedster Chad Jackson will get a chance to break out.......'scuse me?

Oh well....you still have Bruschi, oh....him too?

Well....Superbowl MVP Deion Branch will be open all day against a suspect Buffalo D....right guys?

Get real.... you guys have done nothing but get worse on the field and on the sidelines......

On top of that, you're really banged up.....

You're not the class of the NFL anymore...stop acting like you are.....

I'd be surprised if you go 8-8

You know, you make a good point. We should rest our starters and not take a chance on any of them getting injured. Our 2nd and 3rd string will be good enough to beat the Bills.
