For the few others of you that also kick a HEMI undah the hood.
Here is some mods that have given my Hemi another 40 HP and 4 MPG in economy.
I bought the cheapest aftermarket Air Induction system for my truck.
It is called a Velocity AIS and cost me 135 bucks.
Compared to K&N at over 250 and every other kit more than that.
The AIS gave me around 2-2.5 MPG with approx. 10 HP increase.
I then bought a Super chip by Superchips. I increased the Rev Limits and Shift limits as well as removing the Speed limiter.
I measured and corrected the Tire size calculator so now my Speed is very accurate.
With the increased settings I am at 18 mpg Highway and 15 city.
Thats up from my starting points of 11.5 city and 13.5 Highway.
The HP increase with the Super chip is (have to guess) around 30. I could only be sure with a Dy no and haven't really seriously considered doing that yet.
I run the truck stock in every other way.
I have heard Duel exhaust is a benefit but thats not entirely true with a Hemi, The 2004 Hemi has two Cats and then joins with one exhaust pipe out the side. If you cut and bolt on separate pipes after the Cats you do get louder but you lose some of the efficiency from your Cats.
Thoughts other Hemi drivers?
