Inactive analysis
Analysis from the Patriots’ inactive players and what it could mean for other players:

* With safeties Eugene Wilson and Rodney Harrison out -- and cornerback/safety Chad Scott also out -- the Patriots are once again thin in the defensive backfield. Look for Artrell Hawkins and James Sanders to start for the second straight week at safety. At cornerback, Asante Samuel projects to start opposite of Ellis Hobbs. That likely means receiver Troy Brown will once again be the nickel back, as he was last week in Green Bay. The Patriots also have rookie Willie Andrews at corner/safety and third-year veteran Rashad Baker at safety. Veteran linebacker Don Davis is also an option in an emergency.

* With reserve rookie linebacker Corey Mays out, the Patriots lose a player whose primary contributions come on special teams. Mays’ role should be picked up by running back Patrick Pass.

* With offensive tackle Wesley Britt out, the Patriots have their top three tackles active in Matt Light (left), Nick Kaczur (swing) and Ryan O’Callaghan (right). Light and Kaczur figure to start.

* With defensive linemen Le Kevin Smith and Marquise Hill out, the Patriots have their top five linemen active -- starters Richard Seymour, Vince Wilfork, Ty Warren, Jarvis Green and Mike Wright.

* With Vinny Testaverde as the third quarterback, the Patriots once again have Matt Cassel as the top backup to Tom Brady.
