RIP, Ms Summit. You left a great legacy for women's college sports.

Your career ended far too early and your life was taken much too quickly.
 
I'm a big fan of the UCONN women's basketball program. Pat Summit was arch enemy #1 for many years. Why? Because she was tough, talented, and great inspiration to her players. To lose someone like that so early is a huge loss to the women's basketball and the sporting community at large.

RIP Pat Summit, you were a wonderful coach and an even better person.
 
My mom years ago was diagnosed with mental dementia. She lived many years with it. Seems as though Pat declined quite fast after her diagnosis. A real shame. She was so young to die. She was one of my favorite coaches of all time. I played basketball in high school and always wished I could have played in college for a coach like her. Her players are forever impacted by her.
