Hey everyone-

I bought an old fixer-upper last November; a 20 year old RV which has required a lot of Elbow Grease and fixing.

Well, I'm on my last project before it is trip-ready, and I'm stumped- Hoping someone can enlighten me here.

The problem is with the hot water heater. Not the heater itself; it fills up just fine, fires up, and I can see the flames shooting into the heater. The problem is that there is no water coming out of the faucets (There are 3 total in the Camper). I get cold water just fine, and as I stated the heater is working but not distributing. The pump next to the water tank works just fine, but I know it is only for the tank water to be circulated. As far as I know, there is no pump for the hot water, but I could be wrong and that's why I'm here. The HWH is an Atwood Gas-Fired unit.

Any help here would be much appreciated!
 
If it heats up, once it fires up you can drain some water and feel if it is hot. There is a simple solution many don't realize.
did you check Behind the water heater, inside the rv should be a panel, under a table bench or something you can remove/ open to see the pipes. There is a bypass/shutoffs that needs a 1/4 turn to allow cold water in and the hot water out.
 
When a RV gets winterizer many have bypass systems so you do not pump the hot water tank full of antifreeze. So check for the bypass as I suggested. I bet we are even closer depending which end you reside, stoughtugal or The multi-waters
 
Oh Jeez. Maybe you can go camping together. And wouldn't have to get a room. ROFL

No luck with finding any valves...I'm thinking there might be a blockage perhaps? Here are some pics...Maybe someone can look at it and tell me "Duh, Stupid- You forgot to do THIS"

Somewhere in that unit there is a bypass for that heater. That is undoubtedly the issue. They can be in strange places.
Two suggestions, there are online forums for RVers and you may find tips there. Also call an RV dealer and ask them.
In fact, tell me what type of RV and model it is. I will search around.
 
Wait, do you have a problem with hot water or a hot chick?

I want to extend a HUGE thank you to Mikiemo for coming to my house and fixing this problem. Dude showed up, stepped foot in my RV, and within 2 minutes found a valve hidden under the fuse panel that I hadn't even thought to look for. BOOM I had hot water flowing out LIKE A BOSS.

I owe Mike a debt of gratitude and am here to announce to PP that the guy's OK in my book no matter what the rest of you say.

On second thought, I just realized that Mikemo now knows where I live and sleep. I am starting to regret my decision :D
