Confirmed. Broncos v Pats. are we ready?

I have been a Patriots fan longer than you have been alive, have been to a least 50 games the last forty years, and spent thousands upon thousands of dollars following them all over the U.S. But, I am not a homer. I call a spade a spade, and I root for the team, not the player. So, if there is a better player than a Patriots player, I will say so. In my opinion, based on what he has done in INdy and Denver, Manning is the best to ever play the position. You disagree. I have no problems with your opinion. But you sure do with mine. But, a lot more people agree with me than you.

Well now, everyone is entitled to their opinion, including you...but don't piss on us and tell us it's raining. That last sentence is simple hogwash.

His opinion is fine, the problem I have is saying he is a pats fan and then defending Denver at every turn no matter what the situation is. I mean we have Denver fans on this board, we have colt fans on this board, and none of them pretend to be something they are not so it will look like Manning is just so godly that even a Pats fan would think he is the greatest ever. Its an old message board trick that I have seen as far back as there has been internet.

I'm a Colts fan, but this weekend, I'm the biggest Denver fan ever. Nothing personal, but I'm sick of the Pats.

Excited about the game. I feel like it could end up being the end of the smoke & mirrors routine that BB has put together & just be a Broncos blowout, or a really intense game that shows it wasn't smoke & mirrors and comes down to a final drive by either Brady or PM.

The fact that you are sick of the pats makes me happy and I am pretty sure most of us knew you were going for Denver this weekend, we knew that before the colts and patriots game. Not sure why you think the pats are going to get blown out though, what reason is there for that exactly?

What you call smoke and mirrors is referred to as coaching in NE.

There's a third option to the game outcome which you conveniently omitted.

He probably omitted that in the colts game too. Yeah I liked that smoke and mirrors thing too, Hall of fame coach and Qb, and its just smoke and mirrors. The Patriots have won this way for over a decade now, its not just a new fad.

It's interesting how you read stuff. I think it could go either way - a Denver blowout, if the Pats D isn't really all that and can't stop the Denver O, or a close game that could be a Pats win or Broncos win.

I don't want to discount the possibilty of a Pats blowout completely, because anything can happen in the playoffs - but I think that result would shock me somewhat.

The pats beating Denver by a lot would shock you? The pats have blown out Denver the last 4 out of 5 times they played, the only time they didnt was last time when the pats turned the ball over 3 straight times leading to 21 points without denver gaining a yard on offense, after that they only scored 10 the rest of the game....When has denver shown any ability to stop the pats offense in the last 5 games they have played?

Sorry, just baiting you; I shouldn't do that. You fell into it, though.

Always making different arguments depending on the topic. If it's PM's legacy, a loss this weekend is epic failure - the biggest choke in history.

If it's the game itself, why, of course the Pats will win, and win big!

A loss this week for peyton is an epic failure....I did not say the pats will win or win big, you just made it seem like that was not really possible. A loss is an epic failure for Denver and Manning, but that does not mean it will not happen.

In terms of pure skill, is PeyPey the best to ever play QB? Perhaps.

But, unfortunately for him and his fans, there is a lot more to playing QB than raw talent. Anyone who has watched both careers should be able to easily identify the intangibles that have made Brady so successful and competitive throughout his career. Manning is one 3TD 7 INT Super Bowl run away from being this generation's Dan "loaded with stats and not much else" Marino. The ONLY reason he is even in the GOAT conversation is that 2006 Super Bowl.

Brady, OTOH, has been in the conversation for years. The early knock on him was that he was considered a system QB who was not capable of carrying teams offensively. He has proven that assertion very wrong since 2007 by being one of the most consistently dangerous QBs in the league, setting numerous records along the way. Despite not winning a SB in this stretch, he has still appeared in two (without throwing a pick-6 to lose one) and 4 AFCCGs.

The second half of Brady's career has added to the legacy that the first half began to establish. The second half of Peyton's career hasn't been all that different from the first -regular season glory and post-season collapses.

You just said the Denver's D cannot stop the Pats, whether before Manning or after Manning.

What does that have to do with PM?

Can't have it both ways.

I actually said Denver's D has not stopped the Pats. Peyton set a bunch of records, is at home and is facing a team full of rookies and backups....this is his best chance ever, he blows this.....and even if he does get past this, he needs to win the superbowl as well, going 1-3 in superbowls is not going to cut it, you want to be the best ever, you have to be good in all phases not just one.

Hey Coltsguise, are you gonna wear your Peyton shirt with the Colts half on the left side, or the one with the Broncos half on the left side? Does the back alternate placement,or does it wraparound from the front?

For starters, he'd be 1-2 if he loses this year.

And it's great talking to Pats fans about how crummy one SB win is. I know Pats fans pre-2001 who would have given an arm or more for 1 crummy win.

You guys really are spoiled lousy; you need some time in the AFC basement to re-gain some perspective.

I like PM as a player, and do root for him when he's not playing the Colts.

Sorry that doesn't fit into the "rules" of fandom here.

What does before 2001 have to do with this conversation? Some perspective? We have perspective, what would you like us to say, we suck? I am sorry they have went to 8 afc title games and went to 5 superbowls, but they did it, its not our fault.

I would be hard pressed to believe you would not root for him even if he was playing the colts. Jaric is the biggest Colts fan I know, he does not sit around here all day talking about great peyton is.

I just have to say that living in Indiana, these Colts fans are PATHETIC. There are so many orange jerseys being worn, I keep having to turn the GPS on in my phone to see if I've accidentally traveled to Colorado. Get a clue people. Manning is not the QB of the Colts anymore. Move on.

Can you imagine the riots if the colts beat the pats and were playing Denver this weekend?
