So your thrilled Cam is our starter for the second year in a row?
Sorry, UT. I spent 45 minutes putting this together and spent $52 on a membership to FO to do it. I think it is too revealing not to post it.
No one said that and no one is even thinking that.
The stats Flagg posted are for a moment of time, Brady in 2019 and Cam in 2020.
Truth - those numbers aren't very different for them. Neither QB performed well.
Ok, it is what it is, so now you have to look at why there was a 6 game disparity between the team's wins for those years.
To do that you have to take a detailed look at things like the defense (yds & 1st downs & TDs & 3rd downs & points given up).
You quickly see that 2019 defense was the best D in the NFL. And the 2020 D was one of the worst Ds in the NFL ranking 26th.
Then you look at turnover margin. There you'll see the 2019 Pats enjoyed a huge advantage over the 2020 Pats, 23 iirc. Those 2019 Pats were great at gobbling up fumbles and collecting interceptions. That's almost 1.4/game & that means 1.4 more possessions for the Pats but it also means 1.4 fewer possessions for the opponent for a difference of almost 3 drives/game. I'll take that advantage every game.
These are the stats Brady put up. Compare his 2019 stats to his own career stats with no mention of Cam.
Stats are from ProFootballReference, Football Outsiders and 2 from PFF.

There are a lot of "Worsts" in 2019 for TB12.
These aren't very good stats and certainly they're not representative of Brady's GOAT career but that's what he was in 2019.
He was not good despite being the GOAT.
(And that's, in large part, why he's no longer here.)
If you want to argue these stats go to the sites I mentioned and Quixote their windmills all you want.
