Pats sign RB Antonio Gibson

GREAT pick-up, guy that can play all 3 downs, also a great ST player. Love this
I have always liked this player. People are going to scoff because of the flashier names that landed elsewhere today but this is a solid pick-up, IMO.

The 'Skins have moved the ball well the last couple seasons, not the reason they've been ass

I like him as a player, he's gotten better in pass protection, so he's able to come in on 3rd down/change-of-pace situations, which is something the Patriots didn't have last year.

I really like the signing. Oh by the way I’m perfectly OK that we don’t spend our whole entire cap this year. I think we should spread it out a little bit just in case you know the new coaching staff sucks fucking balls. Also, I highly doubt we’re going to the Super Bowl this year. I’m not trying to be negative I’m trying to be realistic. I do expect improvement and hopefully we get ourselves a really good quarterback, but even if we do a get a great quarterback, it may take up to three years to get to the Super Bowl. so let’s not get crazy with all the extra money we got, and blow it all in one year.

We needed this guy for this role specifically, and got him at what seems to be a decent price. (3/11 to max 3/17)

Bear in mind, they have to spend like 70 million to hit the cap floor. Mac Jones and Parker are about 6.5 million in dead cap, and Gibson probably won't be more than 2 million in cap hit - also 13.6 million on Dugger, so that's what, 48 million more that they have to spend.

Edit: I forgot, probably around 5 million for Kendrick Bourne, so 43 million.

As it's turning out, blowing it all in one tear won't the problem. The problem will be managing to spend enough to get to the cap floor :coffee:

Something tells me that's not going to be an issue.
