So I've been playing Hold 'Em for about 18 months and trying to step up my game.

Any Planeteers consider themselves players that could offer some advice?

Looking to go online and try my hand in the 1c/2c games. Been to all three local casinos and I do pretty well in the tournaments. Played for cash twice - lost $300 first time at Mohegan and won $375 a couple weeks ago at MGM in Springfield.

I play home games quite a bit but it's usually against the same guys so I know how they play.

Thanks

So what kind of advice are you looking for? Bankroll management? Tournament play vs. cash in terms of strategy? Actually play strategy pre- and post-flop? If you are looking to do this as a fun hobby, sticking to lower limit cash games and tournaments where the buy-in amount will not stress you out is the way to go. If you are looking to grind your way to higher stakes cash games and tournaments, you'll have to put in hours of work online and at the casinos to get better. Poker is a lot of fun as a hobby as long as you manage your bankroll and expectations properly.

Haven't been to the MGM's poker room yet. Played at Mohegan on Friday. Loved their new poker room. Lots more room.

Just starting reading a book called Easy Game by Andrew Seidman. Lot of the lingo is hard to grasp.

I guess I'm looking for what experiences people have and their level of success. Playing 4 or 5 times a month for me will not make me better. I know that.

I enjoy poker a lot and played online for a while years ago. These days I would love to find a regular home weekly home game but no one I know plays so I basically never play anymore.

So I got in an online site last week (America's Cardroom). Started playing one table at a time with 6 players for .01/.02. I'd sit with $2.00 and play for a couple hours. Learned a lot for the first few days.

Yesterday, I decided to mix it up and played two tables each with 9 players. $2.00 per table with .01/.02 blinds. I played over 500 hands in a little over two hours. Lost $2.50

I'm still falling in love with hands (KQ suited and little pairs) and overplaying them but I feel like I have gotten so much better.

Been checking out different websites, as well.

Same issue I have. Would love to find somebody to play some hold 'em but it just isn't happening.
