Bring me your tired and huddled masses etc. That was a message of hope, wasn't it? Not for New England it wasn't! The only message is one of utter doom.
The Pats somehow agree to trade gomezcat for Bill Belichick. Gomez's first press conference suggests things may not go to plan when he talks about how "this is all a load of bollocks", he accuses the journalists of "taking the piss" with their questions, and he sits there stony-faced as they trot out "British English" phrases that went out of date 60 years ago. At one point, he says, "Yeah. Hilarious. D'you want a f***ing medal?".
Murmurs that training hasn't gone too well are borne out when the Pats try to fake the kick-off. The unsportsmanlike penalty allows the Chief to start on the Pats' 20 and, two plays later, Wade scampers in.
Gomez decides that Vollmer would be a great option at KR. He's tall, big and sturdy so there's a weird logic to it. Vollmer fumbles the return and is knocked out.
Gomez decides to think outside the box and moves an obviously concussed Sebastian to QB. He decides that the O line needs better protection calls, so opts for experience at Centre. Tom Brady's debut there isn't great as Dantari Poe repeatedly beats him up. The O racks up sack after sack allowed and, by the end, there are no RBs left.
The Chiefs' O has a field day and Alex Smith rewrites record books. At half time, Gomez is noted to be posting on the Planet and it gets brutal quickly. His slanging match with Bill Belichick is posted to ESPN and becomes front-page news.
Anyway, the game finally ends and the Chiefs head to greater things. The Pats go into meltdown and are sold to a businessman, who moves them to St Louis.
Final Score: Pats: 0
Chiefs 730,293
