You could try deleting Kaspersky and adding Avira Free which is rated far better than Kaspersky which is not free.

Try using a regular desktop keyboard plugged into the USB port and see if that resolves it. If it does, laptop keyboard is suspicious.

unless your keyboard is backlit the good news is that replacements are fairly cheap on the www and they are pretty easy to change.

Actually, I did drop it. The keyboard problem didn't start immediately after that and I was thinking of the blue screen messages from before, but guess it's likely that the drop loosened something that's making a few of the keys fail. What's weird is that they're fine for a couple days and then stop working again.

Thanks for the feedback on this. I can always use an external keyboard or get this fixed, but what's weird is that when the problem keys stop responding (j, k, u, h), if I reboot the laptop, then they work again. If it's strictly a hardware issue, I don't see what rebooting makes them work again.

If it works fine with an external keyboard then it a hardware problem. Maybe just a bad/loose ribbon cable or connection.
