Ok my Bostonian/surrounding area Peeps. My husband and I have decided to fly into see the Patriots/Bears game in late October..our very first one LIVE!

I have just a question about transportation to and from Logan. We really don't want to rent a car and we were wondering how expensive it would be to get a taxi from Logan to the Hotel we're staying at when we arrive and then back to the airport on Monday?

Where is the hotel? My guess is it will likely be expensive. Maybe the best thing to do is find a limo type service that does airport transportations.

A cab would be very expensive.

If you don't want to rent a car, you may need to consider using a limo service. There's just no direct transportation from the airport to the stadium.

AN FYI, my niece lives in foxboro and she the couple times she went last year she took a cab to the game and the driver is there after to take her home. It cost about the same as parking is what I believe she said.

From Logan out to around 5 miles from the stadium will cost in the vicinity of $85 each way plus tip. If you contact Sharon Taxi (781-784-9195), they do airport runs for a flat rate, usually cheaper than the usual pay by the quarter mile deal.

How are you planning to get from the hotel to the stadium?

If you're feeling adventurous:

Take the Logan Express' Braintree bus from Logan (link - http://www.massport.com/logan/getti_loga... 12 bucks one way. At Braintree, take a cab to Foxboro - $$

or...

Take the Silver Line bus (technically part of subway system) to South Station. At South Station, get an MBTA Commuter Rail to Mansfield on the Providence-Stoughton Line (link - http://mbta.com/schedules_and_maps/rail/... Catch or call a cab there, but it's just one town away from Foxboro.

Good Luck!

Thinking of taking another cab to and from the game.

If you add up all the cab fare and compare it to a rental car, you might find it comparable. Just sayin'.......

Yep, we were thinking the exact same thing. Might be a whole heck of a lot cheaper to just rent a car and be done with it

Just make sure it has GPS because it's not an easy city to get around, especially in and out of the airport.

. I would have recommend TF green . Normally there cheaper flights & rented cars . It's a lot easier plus no tolls to get to foxboro since your staying 5 miles from it.

Since they're staying in Foxboro, getting around the city isn't an issue.

It's a fairly simple ride from Logan to Foxboro. The Pike extension was the best part of the Big Dig. Getting in and out of the airport from the West or South is easier than ever. The signs are the most confusing part. They just have to remember that 93S = 95N = 128N = 1N. Not tough at all

I'm so thrilled for you girl. Saw them last year down my way and I had a blast.

That's because you know what you're doing. To an out-of-towner, going through the tunnel, which exit to take off of which exit and finally ending up on the Xway is confusing as hell. Even I have ended up on the Zakim more than once when trying to head south. ROFL

But once you're on the Xway it's easy enough. Let's just hope she isn't flying in on a Friday afternoon or her trip from the airport to Foxboro is an easy two-hour ride to go 25 miles. :banghead:

Little known fact...the Brits left Boston because they got tired of asking for directions.

How they ever found Concord is beyond me.

They would have kept going, but someone reminded the commander that they were looking for Braintree. When they stopped to ask some Colonials for directions, they were politely escorted back to Boston.

ROFL That's funny!
