Jeff Fisher steps aside from competition committee

Rams coach Jeff Fisher has his hands full moving to Los Angeles at the moment, so he’s going to take one thing off his plate.

Fisher said at the Scouting Combine that he was stepping aside from the league’s competition committee, telling commissioner Roger Goodell two weeks ago of the decision.

Fisher said he hoped it was a “leave of absence” rather than a permanent shift, with the logistics of taking a team from St. Louis to L.A. gave him enough to do.

The committee has had to deal with some shuffling recently, with chairman Rich McKay of the Falcons was suspended from it for nearly five months after the Falcons were caught pumping fake crowd noise into the Georgia Dome.

The remaining members of the committee include Giants owner John Mara, Cowboys executive vice president Stephen Jones, Packers president Mark Murphy, Ravens General Manager Ozzie Newsome, Texans G.M. Rick Smith, Bengals head coach Marvin Lewis and Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin.

What's most laughable is that Tomlin, who was busted for getting in the field of play to inhibit a runback is on the cc. along with lewis who has 2 of the personal foul kings of the nfl.

about time, maybe he will be replaced with BB

as if that would happen

Snow balls chance because Bill would all make them look the incompetent clowns they are.

BB cares about the the good of the sport, and doesn't whine. Those automatically disqualify him in this NFL.

That and he is also smart.

Why was McKay just suspended from it. He should have been kicked off for good off of it.

Would BB even want to be on the committee?

It would take time he could otherwise spend improving his team.

I'm not sure that he'd want to do that.

But let's assume that he did.

Can you imagine the gnashing of teeth by the great unwashed over this?

How long before his position there would be cited as the reason for our success?

Meanwhile, look who's on that committee right now.

Good thing none of those teams have been very successful in recent years or someone might think it had to do with their position on this committee. :coffee:
