Man... Men are really getting soft

Tell me about it. I left a copy of Barstool Sports in the bathroom a couple of weeks ago, someone (who may not exactly enjoy the touch of a lady) complained that there was porn in the bathroom.

Its the furthest thing from porn. Get over it.
it wasn't the magazine but the fresh paintings done the stall door that got his attention

ROFL

I think some of your gender need to grow a couple. :harumph:
No more sex jokes in the work place, dang it. :Lecture:
More Men Report Sexual Harassment at WorkEEOC will file a lawsuit on your behalf.

I used to work in the high tech sector several years ago. As a result of some ball-busting between two guys getting out of hand the company required us to endure 40 hours of "Sensitivity Training". The one guy did sue over the incident and won his case. There was a rather large undisclosed monetary settlement awarded to him.

Literal or figurative?

This what transpired. One very cold, blisterly New England winter day this guy wears a heavy stadium/parka style overcoat. Not unusual except this particular style coat had a hood that was trimmed with some fur. Again, not unusual. A co-worker of his mentioned how gay the coat was with the fur trimmed hood. As the cold spell continued the guy kept wearing his coat to work. The other fellow wouldn't let up and continued his harrassment. The coat guy having had his fill of the harassment decided to apply for a FMLA (Family Medical leave of Absence) due to the stress he was enduring from his tormentor. When the company denied his request is when the lawsuit came. Now, the coat guy did complain of the incident thru the proper channels but to no avail. Management didn't take this as a very serious problem. After the coat guy was awarded a seven figure settlement the company decided to change their approach to harassment in the work place. It was something that simple that got out of control.

We've been over this a thousand times.

All chaps are inherently assless. :thumb:

What You Can Do

What to do if you believe you're a victim? The EEOC recommends you first follow internal company complaint procedures.

If your employer cannot -- or will not -- resolve the situation to your satisfaction, you can file a complaint at one of the EEOC's 53 offices.

The agency will investigate, and if it finds evidence to support your claim, will attempt to mediate the case. If necessary, the EEOC will file a lawsuit on your behalf.

The EEOC? You might as well contact your local PTA. The EEOC is useless. I filed a complaint once with the EEOC over a job application that was descriminating. They listed about 50 disease's and asked you to check off any that you've had/have. If you checked any off you never got hired and if you lied and didn't check any off you were dismissed after your probation period which by then you'd had your company physical and your medical records were an open book to their Dr. I called them and instead of sending someone in to check them out they asked me to get them one of their employment applications and mail it to them.
I never heard another word back from the EEOC's boston office. The EEOC is another easy goverment pay check for its employees but useless for american workers.

Anyway I spent 21 yrs in a shop enviourment and harrassing each other was what we did to pass the time. You have to either develope a thick skin and good harrassment technic or get the F'k out and find another job

Isn't this similar to what Ann Coulter recently got in trouble over?

That sounds not unlike a certain second-rate message board I know.

Not quite. In the aforementioned case the harrasser claimed he was merely calling the coat gay not the person who wore it. It didn't work but nothing happened to him all the same. The law suit was against the company for not resolving the problem of harrassment. The harrasser did face the consternation of his fellow employees for us having to go to Sensitivity Training because of him. What I remember the most of the training was that there are people who make big bucks being hired to teach this BS by businesses around the country.

Well, the guy left the company on his own, took his newly found windfall of cash and moved down south were he doesn't need that coat anymore. Rumor has it that the coat has been framed and is hanging proudly in his new home. :D

I'll harass you if you want, mikie.

We should just agree on a safe word in advance in case things get too rough.

How about, "Palomino?"

Seriously, though, this is a real problem. And it speaks to the notion that sexual harrassment (like rape) isn't about sex. It's about power and aggression and violence.

Years ago it was fun in the work place.?

There were women who actually patted me on the butt while saying hi or 'morning.

Today, well,...... today I have memories of a time and place where we both had some fond memories. For the most part it was called flirting, nothing more. Today PC rules, mores the pitty.?

Btw most of the women I've met consider harrassment as a fabrication.
They were just having fun with me. :)
Flirting, Harrassment? They were having fun, not making a statement, ya think??????????

PS: Soft? Try me :)

thanks FA, you always make me feel better, like I'm one of the guys

I understand, I work in a male dominated field. It is a tough task for females to be accepted.

Ding ding ding!

Simple painless solution:

Management team to "Oppressor": Stop calling your co-workers queer or we will call you unemployed.

Problem solved.
