Posting pictures

The same way you post a JPG.

The only problem is most GIFs are considerably larger in file size, so you may run into trouble trying to attach one because it is too large.

But if it is hosted remotely, there should not be any problems.

Am I smarter than a 5th grader?
After several tries at this and much frustration, No, I am not.

I know how to add a picture as a file attachment, but that means I have to save the picture to my computer and then attach it as a file. I tried the way UT recommended, but had no luck. Can someone please PM me and explain how to attach a picture directly from a website? Thanks.

All you need to do to post an image that is hosted on another site is right click on the image, copy the link location, hit the IMG button when replying to a post, paste that think location in the field and hit okay.

Another way to do it is to post the link:

http://www.patriotsplanet.com/tbs.jpg

But put tags around the link.

[IMG]http://www.patriotsplanet.com/tbs.jpg

I tried that. I even tried to link the same PP logo picture that you did, but when I went back to my post to check the link, it said "server not found." I tried two other pictures. One was from patriots.com and it came up as an advertisement of some sort and the other was from google. Instead of coming up as a picture, it came up as the whole google page. That's when I gave up. I'll try it again, though. Thanks, UT.

I don't mean to be taking pleasure in the misfortune and struggles of others, but I gotta say I am SO GLAD not to be the only numbskull around here who has a hard time performing these types of operations. Do NOT feel like the Lone Stranger, bmooney54. At least one Old Bag feels your pain! :p

When you do it again, even if it does not work, leave it the way it is and we'll be able to figure out why it is not working.

Is it my imagination or is there no way to attach a file/pic in a pm any more? Its still there on a post, but I dont see it on the pm's any more....
