1. I can't decide what I love more, Mad Men or Christina Hendricks.
The woman is the very definition of voluptuous. She's almost beyond human. In a good way. That said, last night's episode, and really the entire 4th season thus far, is off the charts. When the Brit's father kicked his son to the ground and ordered him home....when Don freaked out about being caught...when Roger lost Lucky Strike. Damn. And there was so much more about that episode that I loved.
2. The Kevin Faulk thing really underscores how much I root for the laundry. I mean, Faulk is one of my favorite Pats ever but I found myself going nuts when a player I never heard of until two weeks ago scored the team's only rushing TD of the season. I mean, forget for a second the strategic elements...my point is that I was going bonkers when the player who replaced Faulk (to some extent) scored, as if I had never heard of Faulk. And I'm sure I was not alone.
3. Even when I know that the Sox are out of it, losses to the MFYs still annoy the shit out of me. They just do. On the flip side, the Fruit Bat looks a bit vulnerable. Maybe this is the year his arm will go flying off his body.
4. Very few people here seem to DVR games and watch them without commercials.
5. Even though it was probably better strategically for the Jets to beat the Fins and put the Pats in a three-way tie for first, the Jets winning that game still was like a wet, hot, squishy fart.
6. Anyone catch the season opener of Dexter? It was really good but how does he torch his home and not draw attn to that? And what about the guy he killed? Seems like a lot of loose ends for the Dex man. Sister Morgan...too skinny.
7. Jon Papelbon was right. He was ridiculously squeezed last night. But more interesting than that to me was the fact that Francona totally rejected what he was saying, as did Victor Martinez. Paps got no support for his whining.
8. I'm still marveling over that TD pass to Randy Moss, the 35-yarder. It was like Brady just reached out and dropped it into his Moss' hands.
9. On the flip side, the fact that Tommy had to be awesome -- which he was -- for the Pats to beat a team as bad as Buffalo is troublesome.
10. Am I supposed to sort of root for the Chiefs? It's hard not to with MC, Pioli, RAC and Weis there. Patriots Midwest.
11. TV continues to beat the living shit out of the movies in this era.
12. A huge percentage of Pats fans seem to think that the Pats D is going to improve over time this season. Good, hope they are right.
13. How could anyone actually think that the Pats would be better off with Brian Hoyer? Debates like Grogan vs. Eason, OK....Although I would always take Grogan. But I could hear both sides (at least at times).
14. Who you got in the four majors as favorite all timers?
Football: Tom Brady
Hockey: Bobby Orr
Baseball: Pedro Martinez
Basketball: Larry Bird
15. Damn, I'm lucky to be a Boston fan. What city could come up with four better choices?
16. I love that NY sports fans treat the NBA as irrelevant. It beats confronting just how terrible the Knicks are and have been for years. Amare Stoudamire is made to be a complementary star. The Knicks will continue to blow door knobs.
17. The Black Hawks will NOT repeat.
18. The Shaq era in Boston will be interesting, to say the least. And I think he'll be a useful player, too.
19. I'm loving the excitment I'm reading about with the Cs.

20. I'm going to miss whomever of Beltre, Ortiz and VMart who doesn't return. Such likable players. Papelbon, not so much.
