Salute to everyone in the great US Military.
Hope that all my fellow Veterans have a great day. Most Veterans had fathers, uncles, brothers, or sisters who served and those are the ones that we think about, not ourselves.

Not having been combat, never had those immeasurable ties to those whose life hung in the balance with yours, but my three dear friends with me all of my nearly two years there are also gone. We all got together in 2015. So grateful for that.

Glad you and they got to share and treasure time together. The other member of my unit Mark came to see me in June we had three great weeks of just being together. He said he would be here when I pass. Could well be within a year so I am told. But hell I've lasted 4 years longer than I was expected to already.

I know some of you served in Vietnam. Below is the Irish-Vietnam war memorial in the grounds of the beautiful Adare Manor here in Ireland.
It commemorates the Irish-born soldiers who served in the US Military who died in Vietnam.

A little late to the party ( as per usual) but thanks to all my fellow veterans and those now serving this great country, without your sacrifice we wouldn't be that shining light on the hill.
