Very sad situation. They're such great parents, but sometimes there is just nothing that can be done with your kids, no matter how much love etc you've given them.

Exactly correct, whether they're your offspring, adopted or otherwise. Sometimes, despite the best parenting, schooling and everything else, kids just turn out tragically troubled.

Question: Was Vince afforded to opportunity to drop charges or push for reduced charges? I don't know the law in Texas (or here).

I hope he was able to drop and chose not to. I ask from a parenting perspective.
