I heard some of that as well, PFL. 5 mins I'd guess. I finally had to turn to eei because of it then I just turned the radio off since I can't stand the overtalking that goes on there. I agree with you about that kind of welcoming wagon and thought the same thing as you when Mazz continued to rant on and on and on. I was relieved when I found out that Haynesworth didn't arrive til last night after Mazz went off the air.
If sports talk radio is the straw that breaks the camels back, there were far bigger issues to begin with.

I was listening to it too and then started wondering if those 2 are paid to bash the Pats then I changed over to a music station because even when Mazz isn't annoying the crap out of me his voice just grates on my nerves

Oh yeah! You ever hear them speed up his voice to make him sound really high pitched and fast talking. Sooooo funny. Mazz needs to reel in the strength of his convictions on Haynesworth more than just a little, imo.

Warren Sapp was breaking down some film on NFLN last night and it did not look good at all.

However, Jamie Dukes was a BIG fan of the trade. So you've got that going for you.

I saw that and you're right, but I'm taking a wait and see approach with Albert. If he makes the roster before the first game, then I'll know that we have a shot at getting 'good Albert'. If not, then we'll know we got 'fat Albert'.

I'm not sure who has a bigger mouth - Dukes or Sapp, but I actually like Sapp on NFLN, believe it or not. Not a big fan of Dukes though.

Agreed. I saw it, too. I like Sapp and can't stand Dukes and his smug know-it-allness. It didn't surprise me that he is not a fan of this move or of Haynesworth in general, and it didn't bother me. I discount anything Dukes says.

I'd rather listen to Rich Eisen singing Mary Had A Little Lamb 24/7 than listen to Dukes. Then again, I love Rich Eisen.

I would like Sapp much more if there were less of him. I know that sounds strange but he works far better in smaller doses than he does as the main analyst.

Dukes...occasionally he makes a halfway decent point but more often than not he generates that "wtf?" look from me.

As to Haynesworth, the worst case scenario is that he behaves through training camp to make the roster and then turns into the turd I think he is once the season starts. Because then you're stuck paying him.

Of course all you can do is hope for the best.

I hope one day I get to be reincarnated as Rich Eisen. He has to have the best job on the planet.

Were those plays from this past year? Or did he dig up footage from Albert's heyday and prove that it won't translate to NE very well?

If it is from Washington, I can't put a whole lot of stock into it. Motivation is an enormous factor when you are killing yourself every 30 seconds.

Really took some time to think about Haynesworth as a Patriot, and I think I feel much better about getting him here, due mostly to BB's genius in using players to highlight their strengths. AH will be evaluated and he will bring an aspect to NE's defense which we have never seen before. BB is that great.

They were all Redskins clips.

Possible. But The 3" leash won't disappear just 'cause the paycheck vests: he'll be gone in a heartbeat.

Cheers, BostonTim

I'm still trying to figure out why a station that is devoted to promoting the NFL doesn't do more analysis. They had a great opportunity to keep people's heads in the game during the lockout by running a daily segment breaking down two hour's footage on each team.

Instead, they prefer to just babble and count down meaningless top 10s. :thwak:

Yeah it was from Washington. I get what you're saying, but as Warren Sapp said, if a hundred million dollars won't motivate you, what will?

One thing I thought was interesting was that even in TN he only averaged 11 games a season.

I just think he's really brilliant, acerbic, witty, and charming, which adds up to very sexy (yes, Rich Eisen, believe it or not) for me. Absolutely love him.

I KNEW HE WOULD BE. I predicted it in the "random football thoughts" thread.
Pretty much anything he ever says, I hate.
I agree with Sapp on a lot of stuff and it's hard to disagree with him on this either. Dukes had bluster and manlove to back him up (as usual) and Sapp had film. Color me shocked.

Oh I know that. I was just saying if that happens you get stuck paying for him.

I suppose the real worst case scenario would be he turds out and takes half the locker room with him, but I really don't see that happening (it'd be nice though :) )

I suppose Warren should know this better than I, but money is far from the only motivating factor. Frankly, I doubt it motivates much of anyone after the contract is signed

He does have brilliant comic timing and he's willing to make fun of himself. He is excellent on that show. I love how emotional he was getting during the lockout. It's obvious how passionate he is about the game.

He's incredibly level headed in his analysis as well. He's alot like Steve Sabol in that I want to hate them for having the most awesome jobs in the world, but I can't because they're too damn likable.

When they asked rookie Peyton Manning what he was going to do with the money from the contract he just signed, he answered "earn it."

I do get your point though.

I like the top 10 program (but yeah, they're running out of things to count down now)

I still wish they'd do more Xs and Os type stuff, but then I get that doesn't appeal to the general audience.

One thing they do need to do, and immediately, is get some new goddamn commercials.

I hear that "don't tell me what to doooo..." song in my sleep.
